Thread: Advanced Components Are they worth making?

Finally got some Class 4 liquid, so I could make Advanced Chemical Release Mechanisms.

THREE HUNDRED AND FIFTY. Stimpack B - usable by anyone with Novice Medic.

Only 24 charges, though.

I made a Stimpack B with normal components, maxed out in effectiveness in experimentation, and it came to 196. I was using crappy water, though, so I could have probably gotten 20 points more from it with better water. Only 18 uses on it - I didn't have enough skill to experiment on charges on either of them.

So - is it worth it to collect 6 different components to get less than 100% of a boost over 3 really good components? (water, chemical, organic) It really depends on how you play. I actually don't run around with enough health at this point for it to make a big difference - maxed out normal stimpack Bs, combined with First Aid IV, are generally enough to heal me fully in one shot.

I have been looking for the components to make advanced for about 2 weeks...of the total 15resources required to make all advanced, i have found 4.I have been to everyplanet but yavin, where i am sure to find the fibeplast i need, but i would have to say that so far it has not been worth it, i have died like 5 times on LOK getting the wheat thats not that great....and the money spent to get to planets then to hopefully find something worth useing not a great trade.i Have a factory outside kaadara so i just make stim d's and get about 425 heals with about an average of 35 charges, i only use quality components 850 OQ or above. If you've done any armor/weapon crafting you'll realize that drugs fall under the same 2 steps forwards 2 steps back syndrome of advanced crafting.

EG my ubese armor is 2 step ahead of chitin. It should be much better, and in terms of potential it might be. But ubese requires such insanely specific resources as long as some crap resources (like iron) that getting 900+ OQ/SR/UT/MA iron (lol), neutronium steel (currently on my server naboo/tatooine/correllia doesnt even have this resourec), bristly hide, etc. is realistically impossible. Bottom line is that as a crafter with maxed PA and Tech my chitin is better than my ubese, because i can assure high quality components with every chitin, which uses moregeneric resources.

I am also a doc, and i noticed this is the same with advanced drug components. There is going to be only 1 or 2 sources of Lokian wild wheat, vs 50+ sources of organic. Among those 50 organics in your galaxy you're going ot find a 900 OQ/PE organic without an issue. The odds of that lokian wild wheat being 900/900? Unlikely.

For balance, 100/100 lokian wild wheat should be much, much better than generic 900/900 organic. I am not finding this to be the case, and generally juse use high quality local resources.

A highly experimented Regular Liquid Suspension caps out at about 50 power, an Advanced Liquid Suspension caps out well over 150. With the proper components an Advanced component can be 300%+ better than a regular one.

And I've yet to use such crappy resources that I've ever made an Advanced component that was WORSE than a regular one.

I've made Stimpack B's with Advanced parts, and those B's have a base heal of 325+ after experimenting. usually about 30 charges as well. Advanced parts are great, but don't bother using them if the recipie calls for more than 1 from a crate, cuz it won't do crap.

It was not fixed as of yesterday and I am 99% positive that any changes some of the servers had put on the last night or this morning would not have included that fix. I think we have to wait for the "big patch" before that get's fixed (IF it gets fixed then, that is.)

I for one have found the advanced to be well worth it.

My average StimB is now at 330 and 26 charges

My average Stim C is now at 445 and 30 charges

I am only using the advanced Chemical and advanced liquid at this time my next step is LOK for some wheat since I cant find it on the bazaar anywhere.

As for the advanced the the Heath Pack C;s and Action Pack C's well worth it when it comes to the other stats not really as I still find I never have to heal those that often I leave for last since they regen on there own at a good rate.

Dont make anything that requires factory right now as I can't afford one and can never find the crates for sale on my server.

I'll chime in here too..

I've found using the Advanced components, even just one, can make a huge difference. I'm mostly using materials in the 800+ range on Overall Quality. I started making wound Cs a few days ago, my first attempt to make a standard wound C turned out 33charges, and 114 wound heal. that was with some experiment failure. I added the advanced BEC, and advanced solid, got up to 40 charges and 140 wound heal. Started with 114 on the wound heal and experimented up. I haven't been crafting with the wound Cs yet to know where the average is, but with Dolv. Iron and Domesticated oats a plenty around Talus right now, no reason not to make at least the advanced sold.

Also as seen in other threads, make sure you're advancing the right categories, Doing charges on the BEC, starts you with a higher charge base for example on the final product.

I've secured some better stuff now so I'm sure I'll be able to get even more then the 40/140 on my wound Cs
