But the fact is you don't get Medical experience at the same rate as Combat experience/Weapon experience. You get it at a noticeably slower rate. If you are in a typical grinding group nailing bols on Dantooine, and you are the healer. You get experience if:

* You heal someone in a fight. People do not necessarily take damage in every fight, and if someone else heals them first, you don't get anything but still spend the time trying - and not healing someone else.
* You do not get combat experience.
* You do not necessarily get the mission bonus experience as medical experience because you will only receive it if you can heal someone within the last few seconds of the lair's existence - when everone is usually healed up and not taking any damage.
* If in a fight your group pulls multiple targets you still only get healed based on the individuals you heal, not the number of targets (with a weapon you can simply switch targets to make sure you hit each one at least once).

Therefore the rate at which you receive Medical experience is normally less than that you receive for using a weapon. Putting it at the SAME exchange rate is overdoing it. I can see that its acquired a lot more rapidly than many other types of experience but raising the rate to say 25:1 might have been more balancing.

I have no problem stating categorically - based on my own firsthand experience - that gaining Medical experience is slower than gaining say Rifle experience. Noticeably slower, I would guess at about 4/5 as fast or less. Missing mission bonuses (say 1/3 to 1/2 the time), fights where no one takes any damage, etc all add up to less experience, and of course the utter lack of combat experience.

The current exchange rate makes Medical experience far *worse* than weapons experience, and of course its only applicable to a section of FS skills that most people avoid in any case. If they are going to count it as Combat Experience then it should also be applicable to the types of FS skills that the combat skills let you learn. It should also provide you with combat experience.

It matters because jedi was not supposed to be easier to obtain for one profession over the other...but then again look how hard it is for crafters to become jedi /shrug

I usually don't have a problem getting med xp with a pick up group from the Dantooine Mining Outpost or anywhere for that matter. Even a single minor heal during combat gives you to full medical experience, and multiple this by the insane amount of spawns from a piket lair and you can rack up xp pretty fast. I don't know how things are for non master healers since I haven't been a non master since July of 03...
