Oh and don't do it near a crafting station. Saves you the extra Enter key stroke.

I just did what others hear are posting. I got 30K of (2 types) crappy resources, 4 crafting tools and grinded out BEC's. I didn't use any macros (not realyl sure how to set them up). I got thru the Doc & CM crafting lines in about 3 days at 3-4 hrs of crafting each of those days.

My way probably wasn't the fastest, but it cost me next to nothing (used up all the crap reasources I had gotten with my harvesters before I actually new quality of resources mattered, been playing since release), and it worked for me.

- I support Pre-CU servers! I did NOT buy a FPS game! Your voice counts!

Check out this website for how to macro your tools and such. This made my grind go much much faster.

Hello!

I have a complete non-answer for this question that may infuriate you!

I don't grind!

Seriously, not once. I make the medicines that I use or sell for a decent price. And you know what I've found? The different trees (wound treatment, treatment speed, medical knowledge and crafting) all even out!

I know, this completely eliminates me from being an uber-player, and will readily discount my opinion in the eyes of many. I've come to terms with that.

Seriously, play the game to have fun. Make the medicines as you (or your friends) need them. Make enhances and sell them, heal people, go on adventures....have fun! I'm having a blast at this game, and don't feel my class is 'borked' or 'nerfed' in any way!

And no, I'm no newbie...I was a beta tester. Blame me for no ability to heal mind wounds or buff mind!

Heh, dunno who this hippie Seek'n'Save is, but he's pretty biased! I have been doing exactly what he's done and I have Master Wound Treatment, speed, and knowledge in the Doctor lines, Master Ranged Healing, Speed, and CM Med use in the Combat Medic line and only advanced medical crafting in the doctor line, and NO medical crafting blocks in the Combat medic line. So I'm capped in medical xp in two Elite Professions, but only two blocks of medical crafting xp in one. I'm not an uber powergamer and I don't buy my stims - I just make what my friends and I use.

In my opinion of the doc/cm xp progression, they should make medical xp a little harder to come by, and medical crafting xp a little easier.

Regualar BEC's are the best route. Others will say you get more exp. making something else, but the time needed to create one of these is minimal. The problem with adv. BEC's are the resources and I think, correct me if I am wrong, that they take more time to finish....

Well, for a different view of this, I don't exactly grind either, but I do spend 2 to 3 hours a day making stims and wound packs with all advanced and all experimented components. I hate waste of time and resources. It takes me a bit longer, but in the end I sell or use EVERYTHING I make (and they sell well).

It also doesn't hurt to have a factory or 2 in close proximity churning out parts at the same time for that extra 20%

How much wheat and fiberplast should I buy to grind through all 4 levels in the doc tree? Thanks

I'm actually at a similar point as Syphie. I have mastered Doctor, Master Combat Medic Support, Expert Ranged Healing Distance, Expert Ranged Healing Speed....and intermediate CM Med Crafting.

I capped out my Med XP after Master Doctor long before I ever decided to give CM a try. But my Med Crafting XP was nowhere near capped.

Guess it's back to grinding for me...

For grinding the Doc. crafting tree. You will need somewhere around 18k of each resource for the advanced bec's. For regular bec's probably close to 22k.

This has been a great and helpful thread for me. I am getting the following:

36xp for regular BEC in practice mode@ 12resources per grind

1:3 xp:resource ratio = 3k units per 1k xp

84xp for Advanced BEC in practice mode @ 36 resources per grind

1:4.28 xp:resource ratio = 4285 units per 1k xp

As you can see, making the Advanced BEC is the MUCH faster way as far as clicks/xp but is also a significantly higher cost in resources. Considering that the resources needed are not that easy to come by, I am having to think twice about grinding them all away.

I also don't agree with Seekandsave. I've made all my own medicines and just crafted as I went, and two nights ago, I reached 4-4-4-2 in doctor. So I've spent yesterday getting the third crafting box and by tomorrow I should be the rest of the way. But you can't just use your own medicines you craft and expect to reach crafting 4 at the same rate as all the other skills.
