Nerfs are needed in SWG and I welcome them.

And I'm tired of clueless CH/Medics whining about losing their medical XP exploit. This is the Doctor forum, for an elite post-Medic profession. This thread doesn't belong here.

i agree with Kroul i am close to master doctor and feel the same

i did my time .. i took the ride from novice medic to the top ..making hardly and credits on the way , but thats was ok i got the exp ..and it was nice gettin the occasional "big tip" every now and then ..got a 5k tip once heh...when i am at the top ..i want to enjoy all the work i put in doc and make alittle money with that hard work

i made my money doing missions . , people just dont want to pay a medic or doc ..like most healing class in games ..they are useally the poorest ..my cleric in EQ was broke ..funny a sergeant in the army or what not cant compare to the income of a doc in the civilian world ..i know , i know its a game yada yada yada

i think the most ticked off i got in the game was one day i was sorrta in a bad mood ..i was novice doc and sittin in theed med center ..and there was alot of beat up people there ..all screamin "heAl plZ " and running outta the door as fast as they could ..some not even a "thank you" ...

so i figure "hey these people arnt even appreciating what i am doing for them"...so i after more "heAL plZ's" ..i say politely ..ill heal for a tip .....i havent never got so verbaly abused before in the game ..i mean worse than a architect asking 15k for a small house ...i got called everything besides a white man heh..greedy , selfish , lazy , you get exp dont you? ...ect ect ect...

so i left and then the tells started coming in people started tipping after that...im not askin to make the money that a weaponsmith is ...but some for my time is nice if im in the med center...to me sounds like the greedy , selfish, ones are the ones that just came back from makeing 30k off missions and dont want to tip you ...i even had a guy that didnt tip ..walked out the door and shouted "WTB equipment factory payin 50 k "..i just laughed to myself and thought "whats wrong with this pitcure"? heh

whens the last time you seen weaponsmiths , armoursmiths , architects , ect offering thier service for free? i guess they are greedy and selfish too huh cause they charge credits

...now that you CANT get exp off a pet ...there is no way a medic or anything besides master doc is gonna heal a pet for free unless its in your group of couse ..a dead pet is a dead group...help your medics and docs ..they are just tryin to make a living just like you

ok, sow how is this a plus to BE's?

If it costs more to heal your pet in a med center because you have to pay a doctor, a CH will be more inclined to buy pet stims from a BE.

You guys probably haven't spent much time in the BE forums but there are very few BEs that make the pets stims. A large number of BEs are boycotting making pet stims based on the very foundation that the devs took a broken BE class and turned the class into a pet band aid factory.

Trust me, most BEs will not see or acknowledge any benefit from this.

Thanks for clarifing that healing something is an "exploit." Sure, people dueling pets and healing them could be an exploit, but there is a simpler fix for that problem. Don't let anyone in a duel get xp for healing. I'm not going to heal a pet just to keep it alive. Keeping their pet alive should be the CH's job. I spend good money for my resources, and when out in the field, every time I use a heal on a pet, I hear this strange flushing sound like money down the drain.

Why is healing a person any different?

Mind healing is an issue. You can't use trick 1 during battle. Pets won't listen to that command when they are fighting. So hence, during long battles the pet WILL run out of mind and fall unconscious (had my friend's gurrack do this a few times when I was keeping it perfectly healed otherwise).Pets will run out of mind before people do a lot of the times. But since BE stims heal mind also, that gets rid of that problem.

Second off, ANYONE can use petstims. there is NO requirement for any skill at all. So why would someone bother paying a medic 1k or so to heal their pet when they can buy a pet stim pack for cheaper? I've seen pet stimpack a's that heal for 370 and have 15 charges selling for 100.

I'm a Doctor. That's what I do. I heal things. I'm not a creature handler. I'm not just a medic. I decided to be a doctor because I wanted to be able to heal. I wanted the best heals in the game. But now anyone can heal a pet, and they can do it better then I can, unless I want to start buying/using pet stimpacks. Not only that, but I don't really have incentive to group with anyone who will have the pet tanking because frankly, I don't use my pistol. I focus on healing during battles. So what exp would I get out of grouping with a pet tank?

What point is it to be a doctor anymore? I could buff players, but players don't tank against kimogilas or force crystal hunters, even if they were buffed to 2500 HAM. Res packs? most of the time since the pets are tanking people aren't dying - if someone does die it means something went really wrong, and probably everyone will die including me. It takes just as long for everyone to run to their corpses as it does for me to run to my corpse and then res everyone. Wound kits? very rarely have I seen anyone who takes more then 1 hit of a woundpack B, unless they have been repeatively killed by spawncamping factioned children. Big heals for pets even though I don't get exp for it? Let's see. I use stimpack D's, which are usable at skill 40 (that's pharma 4), creatable at master medic, and heal for 1500. That's WITHOUT any advanced components, just normal ones for me.

I suppose once I go one way or another in the factions it will all become clear to me, the purpose of being a doctor. But since I'm a neutral, it all seems pointless to me after they made pet stimpacks and removed exp from healing pets. Why bother with doctor when I'd heal just as effectively at master medic?

I honestly believe that the pet exp nerf and the creation of pet stimpacks, hand in hand, will have much greater repercussions to the number of doctors on the servers then a lot of you think. And if fewer and fewer people take up/keep this profession, Doctors might find themselves on the low priority list next to Chefs. The professions with the largest player base seem to get attention, while those who have a handful of people get bones thrown to them once in a while just to keep them quiet (take a look at the number of changes/benefits done for CH vs. Chef. Sure, CH got nerfed, but they also were granted a larger market, no skill required stimpacks so they didn't have to waste points on medic, etc while chefs got, since release, eggs. sometimes. if you're lucky and pick up scout also. oh but hey, BE needed eggs too so I guess that's not exactly a straight chef-only kudo)
