Thread: Zalor, any news on excessive 'critical failures'?
In effect that's already listed as an issue for us.
That being said, as an avid reader of Dev Tracker I really do not remember seeing anything from a Dev that the stations were not working. i would remember that because I would list that as part of a Dev response on our experimentation issue, and I don't have it there. Although it is possible I missed it, but if I did I'd really appreciate if someone could find it for me.
To the best of my knowledge the tools and stations are not bugged in that way. However, they might be bugged in reverse, such that a + tool actually works wors than a - tool. I did see a post either on the Artisan or Architect forum where someone listed the data of a set of testing they did that showed where they were getting quite a bit fewer Crit Fails with a -ratedtool over their +rated tool.
For some reason I thought that either they didn't test the stations, or the stations worked correctly. I've never heard anything more on this, but I still use a negative rated tool myself and I think it works better than the +rated ones I have, still.
As for having their ear... not really. Not unless it's a Top 5 issue and those all get voted on.
thank god it's just not me. I got sooo pissed off at all the crit failure rate when making enhance-d schematics. Loosing 3 adv bio's, 2 adv chems, 1 adv solid, 22avian and 22 reactive gas (all 900+oq, pe or better) is just wrong. I use a 43.9% station and uber tools. Also I have a medical assembly4 outfit and I still get insane crit failures on both assembly and experimentation. I would say 3 out of 20 experiment tries I get crit failures. I would say 1/3 of the time I get failures but that can't be correct, it just feels that way sometimes.

Zarlor, all I can remember is there was a discussion on my server boards regarding the quality of stations. Someone was selling high quality stations for 100k+.
A crafter (whatever crafter makes them) posted that the dev's specifically stated that the quality of stations has no effect "at this time" (like i said it was 2-3few months ago).
He then linked to the actual statement made by the Dev, but I didn't bother to look at the forum title so I don't know which forum it was on, I just read the post/statement.

As I stated in another post here, I have found that when crafting enhance packs, I fail/critfail at least 5x more than any other medicine I make.
I have no idea if that's what the dev's intended when coding our making of enhance packs but it's a fact. If experimentation on Enhance packs is SUPPOSED to have the same chance of success or failure as other medicines, then there is definitely some wrong coding in place.
Again, we can't know if it's "working as intended". Perhaps we can get a dev to at least answer that question. If the success/fail rate is supposed to be the same with all meds, then we know to submit bug reports on it. Can't submit bug reports if we don't know if it's supposed to work that way.
