Thread: Master Doctor Overpopulation?
I've seen a heck of a lot more doctors lately too. . .I'd like to think it was because people saw what some of us Doctors could do (I'm a TKA/Doc and been that way before it was even popular) and decided to follow suit. My only problem is that with so many doctors, I seem to get zero response for getting buffs at the rate of 5k for all 6 H/A stats.
I used to get lots of interest. . .now when they hear 5k, they go "Oh. . .nvm". Part of the problem is a lot of them are undercutting the other doctors (like me) who don't make a lot of money. Oh well, I refuse to sell my buffs for less than 5k. . .I'd rather save the charges for people who are either nice to me, go hunting with me, or understand the time/cost of putting together good enhance packs.
My thoughts. . .nothing more

Seems I can't go anywhere without seeing at LEAST two Master Doctors there. I walked into the Theed medical center the other day and I was the THIRD Master Doctor to walk in.....
Although it was cool to chat with one of the other ones, because we were both Novice Medics in the beginning, I think it has gotten a bit ridiculous......
But alas, there will be one less Master Doctor on Valycn soon..
If it makes you feel any better, Chilastra will have one less MD after the 26th...

"Master Doc gives +25% to buffs?"
Yep. Medicine Use it's called and I noticed an immediate improvement to buffs.
my only counter to this is that i only use c's for secondary wounds, because it is rare for someone to let those get way high. and since i am on bria, ALL tubers suck ALL of the time. hence i usually only use d's, and still one shot heal everything. e's are just a waste of components beyond that. as for everything else, you are right on. i carry crates of poison and disease cures on me, and i always have enough of the state cures as well. and i usually carry 2 packs of 25 use res kits.

I was apparently the first master doctor on Valcyn(July 30).
Yes there are a lot of us now, but it's only the good ones that count. A good doctor buffs all non-mind stats up to 3000 each (minimum 800). A good doctor carries C packs for curing poison and disease, plus E wound packs of each type. A good doctor carries a crate of revive packs and cure state packs for everything from blinded to dizzy.
And there are few good combat medics. A good combat medic throws ranged heals around like crazy, saving people's lives as they fight and doing group area heals as appropriate. A bad combat medic has only the poisons and diseases.

Making the higher-level Woundpacks is nothing but an unnecessary aggravation and expense: even if someone did come in with fully black Health and Action, what will take you two hits of E to heal will take me only three (at the most four) hits of B. If you have the money, resources, and time it wont hurt to make the higher level wound medicines - but just because you’re not using them all the time, you certainly aren’t a “bad doctor.”

There seem to be scads of Master Doctors these days - but I suspect a lot our “seeing them everywhere” is something called Confirmation Bias (Definition: A type of selective thinking whereby one tends to notice and to look for what confirms one's beliefs, and to ignore, not look for, or undervalue the relevance of what contradicts one's beliefs.) We notice the Master Doctors because that’s what we’ve trained our eyes to see - the fact that there were three MDs in that room was odd, but if you noticed three Master Creature Handlers outside the Theed Starport you wouldn’t make anything (or as much) of it!
If you think that seems weird, try a little experiment on the way to work or school tomorrow: Look around you (keep your eyes on the road if you’re driving!) and see how many white-colored pickup trucks you see. I bet there’s one or two in your apartment complex or neighborhood - and you’ll see dozens as you cruise across town or down the highway! Where did they all come from? The same place all the Master Doctors did: they were there all along, but you didn’t chose to notice them in particular until now.
I became a master doctor on Gorath server the other day. I have been looking for other master docs on the server. Either I don't go to the right cities or the master docs are not showing their profession, but I don't run into too many. I am very busy with buffs so I am thinking the Master Docs don't necessarily want to be known because they don't want to buff. It can be an annoyance when you are trying to do other things and get buff tells every 30 secs. But I can't complain because I get paid.
The only place I see a number of Doc's is in the Coronet med center. But that has always been overly crowded.
On Talus I reside near Dearic so I stop in the med center there quite frequently. I rarely see another Master Doc in the med center. Maybe its just the time I play.
In my little corner of the world it doesn't seem to be overcrowded. But I am also sure that a lot of the people that play Doctors are heading out for holocrons. I will just sit back and enjoy the ride for now while I work on my BE line.
