Ok think of it this way. You sell a buff for 10k. The guy that made the buff gets 5k of that. Your taking 5k, he's taking 5k. You don't think his time and money is worth 5k per buff? He could just as easily be greedy, not sell buffs and take the whole 10k. Then where would that leave you? Without a decent buff pack to sell, thats where.
Also lets say the crafter is paying 200cpu for the avian. The current price for good avian spawn on Shadowfire. Which is on the low end, the more populous servers I hear people paying 300-400cpu for avian. So that 200cpu x28(the number of piece of avian to make one buff) = 5600 credits. Poof, the crafter just spent more than the 5k he makes off your buff. Mutiply that by 5 (since action doesnt require avian), It cost that crafter 28,000 credits just for that avian meat. Not to mention all the other resources, whether he bought them or harvested them. So you buy a set of buffs at 150k, 30 charges, sell 10k per buff make 300k. The 1/5 of the 150k the crafter "made".
Lets break down one buff.
42 Organic (herb meat, lets say 50cpu) =2100
28 Reactive Gas (lets say 3cpu for all non-organics) =84
28 Avian Meat =5600
18 Inorganic =54
16 Chemical =48
8 Metal =24
That comes to 7910 credits for that buff pack. Then factor in factory mant and power. Lets go to 9000 credits. Now with a cost per buff set of 150k, and 9k x6= 54000 credits. Ok so he makes 2/3's profit. But then again....he puts ALOT more time into gathering, purchasing, crafting, waste from experimenting, to make that one set of buffs than you do to hop a shuttle, and buy it from the vendor. So factor in the crafters time to craft along with the resource price and cost to run the factories, and ask yourself how much cash he really made?
There's one more hidden cost to the doctor that many people miss: The failures. (any result less than "amazing" or"great") Those cost a small fortune too.

Try making some good quality buff packs before you criticize how much they cost.

That's just the point, I'm not making money hand over fist as a doctor because half of what I make goes to buying packs. I'm also a TKM and I think I can make more doing missions than sitting around passively buffing people which gets boring.

"half of what I make"
If you are making a 50% profit margin you are getting a wonderful deal on buff packs.
If not, then this thread is a good start, find out what you need to collect to make them and get crafting.

make the cash even faster. Can you make 500K in 3 hours running missions? Possibly, if the situation is favorable.
I am a TKM/MD. I only buff myself and the public when there is not other DR around and people are waiting and shouting. I regulary make 750+k an hour on Dant running missions. At least I did until the last patch. Now about 1/4 of my missions do not complete. I can easily make 500k per hour still. I join a solo group, go to a Improved Job Market and run Janta and Mokk missions. A set of missions pays 64k and takes on average around 4 to 5 mins. This includes travel and selecting the mission from the terminal. This does not include the Janta Blood and Hides or other loot. When I want to rack up another million, I run missions for about an hour and a half.

Yeah Janta and Mokk missions beat everything else in the game if you are after money. And I hate that bug too...

"=============================================================================================================2/3 is a lot of profit why not 1/2. I'm also talking buffpacks at 120K but with only 25 uses. Also, I'm not sure that anyone is paying 200 cpu for meat on our server right now. Max is probably 100 cpu. This also discounts the fact the I may harvest the meat on my own, the two most expensive ingrediants.
I highly doubt there is any doctor that harvests the meat on their own. Some might harvest a little bit, but the large buff pack sellers can not possibly harvest enough to fulfill their needs. Meat harvested on their own might account for their avian/herbivore prices dropping 5-10 cpu at best.
