I did this survey to show the state of Bria's economy towards Docs. And to show that Avian isnt

the only factor in Buffs. because i hear from people screaming at Docs (and me personally) that payin 250cpu-300cpu

for Avian meat is negligable to the profit we make from buffs.

It's not negligble. It may be very high or very low, or very medium. Follow this chart and decide for yourself:

Using 25 charge packs as an average...

X = Avian CPU
N = Charges per buffpack (20, 25, 30)
A = 138 = Avian needed for one set of 6 buffpacks
CPB = (X * A / N) = Avian cost PER PERSON BUFFED
CPB' = (X * A / (N+1)) = Cost added PER PERSON BUFFED, with 1 extra charge due to high DR Avian

X A N CPB CPB'
5 138 25 28 27
10 138 25 55 53
25 138 25 138 133
50 138 25 276 265
75 138 25 414 398
100 138 25 552 531
200 138 25 1104 1062
400 138 25 2208 2123

-paying 250 cpu avian adds796 credits to the cost of making each charge of a buffset, for a total of (All Other Costs/25 +796).

- paying 300 cpu avian adds 1693 creditsto the cost of making each charge of a buffset, for a total of (All Other Costs/25 + 1693).

With lousy Avian, you sell each buff application for X. With great Avian, you sell each buff application for X+Y.

- Is Y < 796? Then it's not worthwhile to buy the 250 cpu avian.

- Is 796 < Y < 1693? Then but the 250 cpu stuff, but don't buy the 300 cpu stuff.

- Is Y > 1693? Then buy hte 300 cpu stuff, it'll add more to the buff's value than it costs.

fair enough, i posted this on urs, ill accept ur post on mine about ur formula.

Thing is, this thread has nothing to do with the increase of prices. its just stating the state of the economy and the fact that EVERYTHING factors in to the cost of crafting a buff...... why are you just pointing out avian again? thats what this thread is trying to stop. (and dont say u threw in 'other costs' coz ill start pointing people to ur original thread, it had nothing to do with 'other costs')

As I just posted in the other thread, you're completely right that if the other costs are really high, then you have to consider them too. The other thread ask "what's the costdifference between cheap avian and expensive avian". You're right that if everything else is really expensive then it can be hard to be profitable.

Most docs I believe are like me and you andcollect most oftheir own stuff.However, it's nearly impossible to gatherenough meat to keep up with your heavy harvesters. Over a few days, your harvestor can collect 100k of a good spawn without you even logging in. To collect100k of a goodAvian or Herbivore spawn would take hours and hours of continuous gameplay. In order to keep up with your harvestors, you need to outsource the hunting to other players. That's why people focus on the cost of Avian and Herbivore; because they're much harder to collect than the other resources.

I still don't think resource prices are a fair valuation of the state of the (buffing)economy... as other people have pointed out, you chose the most expensive way to make buffs: buying your resources from others.You say it costs 60 cpu for Cl4 Liq Petro, but it costs <1 cpu if you harvest it yourself.
