Thread: Avian Meat Frustration
On Bloodfin, avian meat goes for well over 100cpu. While herbivore meat goes for about 40cpu.

Wow. Shortage of master rangers? Or too many doctors? Or bad economy?
why dont you guys try talus, there is nothing but birds (group aggro kind of bird that is)on that planet. btw avion meat grows on any thing that flys not just butterfly, kaduu, bird, peko peko?, etc or anything else that resemble a bird or creaturecapable offlying that isnot a meat eater.
On endor there are Lanterin birds drop avain meat. See them alot near the desert to the north.
Talus, has fynock (note the f no the v or m), rasps, and these devil things now, they drop a good bit.
Spats on Corellia drop avian meat, and rasps..
Yavin has some big bird things too, don't remember what they're called. Not many of them though..
Also when you're hunting solo make sure you don't group with your pets, or anything else. There's a "bug" that will cause you to get about 1/2 the amout your should. And if you are grouped with a person with scout, make sure they they harvest before the body disappears of course.

Type in your server and do a search for avian meat.
Has some holes but it helps narrrow the search.

There is a resource shift on Lok today (you know when you can only harvest 1 unit from a creature), so this quality Lokian avian meat should be available tomorrow:
- OQ=705
- PE=842
- DR=104
If it weren't for the yucky DR it would almost be good. Still...you could match it with some high DR gas to squeeze out 8-9k seconds maybe (?). Still...better than the avian meat in the last shift.

Always a great idea, but it will take plenty of investment capital. It seems that, across pretty much every server, buying meat is an expensive proposition.
One more suggestion - I starteda ring on Flurry in which doctors would share resource information. As the ring got bigger, I started putting all of the information on a web page so that everyone could see it. Most of you won't get much out of the page, I'm sure (as it's all about resources on Flurry), but there is a section that includes target creatures for herbivore and avian meat on the various planets. It has some holes, but I'm working to fill those in all the time. You can find it here:

Unfortunately, all of the planets listed so far, have poor-quality meat. Talus, Dathomir, Corellia, Yavin4, Naboo, and Lok all have VERY low-quality avian meat (Dathomir and Naboo take the lowest at 24 and 25 OQ), or mediocre avian meat (I believe Lok has an OQ of 400).
Tatooine has good quality, along with Rori, but both only spawn small creatures that carry it. Rori is the best so far, with the midnight vir vurs (thanks for that suggestion) at 16 units a pop (I only have enough for Hunting 2 at the moment).
And I haven't found anything that spawns avian meat on Endor or Dantooine.

Anyhow Avian meat is always a bitch to get, when it turns up on the bazars it goes really fast, crap meat is often way too expensive and most players seem to take the "carnoviore missons", because these seem to have a high pay out IMO than herbavoire missions. Anyhow - no point in bitching, thats just the way it is.
I had tohunt for a smallpile of my own Avian meat offTalus awhile back 900+OQ/PE and DR (Wanderhome). What I find works for me is if you hunt you self (ie, non guilded, dont like dealing with other players.. whatever) is take missions that drop Avian meat, 2 of course at a time in the same direction (well "No **edit** Sistere"). When doing this don't just group with you pet, hit the CH's and destroy the lair.
1) If using pet don't group with the pet, I used (*sigh* its a Lvl 15.. so goodbye my faithful Pokie ;( ) a pet butwasn't "grouped" with it. I found that the harvest was always higher when not grouped, than grouped. Like I said feel free to use them still just don't be grouped, and while your pets tanks use your weapon to help your pet out - or not whatever. Kill everything outside the lair and harvest.
2) Once all the CH's outside of the lair are destroyed, wait a while (I wait to regen my mind pool) and send the pet after the lair again. Once CH's come out to defend the lair, send your pet after those critters, but don't let it destroy the lair yet. Kill everything and harvest.
3) Repeat until you exhaust the spawns
4) Let the pet destroy the lair or help it.. and move on to the next one.
As for Dwarf Nunnas on Tat I only have Novice Scout and get about 4 units of these each. When I come across a Nunna lair while travelling I snipe off the Nunna's, harvest, hit the lair a couple times, kill defenders, and repeat. Get about 20 of them this way per lair. Also didthis on Endor killing Squalls (had a good herbavoire shift a while back) and these things spawned like mad on my pet.. had bunnybodies everywhere when done... it was ugly.
Anyhow it takes awhile but you should try to get more then one spawn from a lair, and maybe try doing this without pets grouped to see if this increases your harvest.
Then again you could always hired some scouts to gather it for you
