Thread: fyi player hospitals
Well, does the Cantina have any autohealing functions?
Of course the ability to use it as a residence and place a Crafting Station there along with vendors and getting it onto the planetary map wihtout having to have merchant skillsall might make it a bit more useful in some sense. And it takes a Doc to drop one, so if you wanted to place taht Cantina instead, as a Doctor, you'd also have to have mastered one of the Entertainer professions or Chef and not too many Docs have that particular template, I don;t think. (ALthough a few have to be the best all-around healer and buffer they can be.)
Ouch, my player city just had its first med center placed. We are neutral but are composed of rebel and imperial pa's. We have two master docs, one is rebel the other, me, is imperial. SO i can't register at the medcenter that I now partially operate and contribute too?
I agree the med center and cantina buildings need some extra benefit above and beyond player homes. Other than the registration effect of the hospital.
Greetings,
Can you drop things in the Hospital (backpacks? storage?) like you can in a normal house? I would hate to drop one, and find that I cant even stow my supplies in the back office. If you -can- stick stuff in there, how much (150 like a small or medium house? 225 for 75 per lot)? I would certainly consider moving out of my house and placing a Hospital for my city, as long as I can find some place for cot and my resource collection!
the hospital holds 225 objects, as it is 75 objects times3 lots..
so yes, you can drop stuff in a backpack in there ![]()
I've been considering adding this the following as an Issue on the list as there seems to have been just enough interest in this post and others for it. I want to make sure that I have it well covered, however. So what do you think of the following:
34.Player City Hospital Benefits+
(New Issue)
Some players have expressed concern that Player City Hospitals offer little benefit over a large house and almost no benefit over a Cantina. Houses can be used for all forms of wound healing. Cantinas can also be used for wound healing, are available on the overhead and planetary maps, and autoheal all forms of wounds and Battle Fatigue. A Hospital only appears to add the /registerwithlocation ability, which is only usable by members of the same faction, if a factional player placed the structure, anyway and is of fairly limited usefulness. Are there other benefits that we are unaware of? If not suggestions have included providing a healing bonus to those /registered there, a free vendor for the placing Doctor to use for med sales, not allowing wound healing in player cantinas and cloning centers, or some other benefit.
Does that cover all the plusses and minuses of a player hospital over a cantina or a large house?

Sounds good to me
Not being able to registerand non-specialness of the Hospitals over regular housesare the two biggest issues for me right now.
Otherwise Im pretty happy.
Zarlor I think that covers most of the issues. However, I think wounds should only be healable in a medical center not a cantina. I mean really if you had a broken arm would you go to a bar to get it set? although the alcohol might help with the pain......![]()

Wait! I thought of another one!
TEF's from wound healing kick and lock us out of player owned hospitals, just like houses, even if the Hospital is public to everyone.
Really annoying when I heal someone whos overtand instantly get booted for a couple mins before i can even get back in my own hospital.
