Thread: Any point to bein a doc in the field?

My main character on Shadowfire is of course DOC/CM... have another character on Tempest that id DOC/Swords... Having a doc out there for PvE is somewhat valuable with newer players, but SO needed in PvP. The more people in a group who can remove those states or rez players that are down... the better likelyhood that the group is going to survive.
Usually, for big time PvP... the healing order goes like this (for me):
*Jedi -- yeah, gotta keep them up and running... they do the most damage, are the most likely targets, and it hurts ALOT when they die (Ever see how mad they get when they have to clone?) Keep the poisons off them, keep the disease off them ....
* Doctors/CMs -- Like I said, the more that can rez the better... and as for CMs... the more out there that can keep you from needing to rez, the betterMind poisons area healers worst enemy, as I'm sure you know -- as a CM, I love docs who take minddisease off of me (oh, the 989 mind wounds from healing everyone's minds)
* Everyone else...
With decay and stuff, no one wants to clone... I've had players who I've known for a year now sending me tells on Rori to come revive them on Endor... So, I'd say yes... doctors out in the field are useful

Oh hell yes, my hunting group went to the nightspider cave and nightsister cave the other night, and I brought tons of state heal packs and cure poison/disease packs as the nightspider queen poisons with nasty strengths. When my groupmates fought some sentinals, spellweavers and protectors they all got dizzy, blind, intimidate, stunned and even bleeding- I stood back and healed, healed, healed, healed, healed. I feel more useful in the field now.

So, I take it you haven't been a doc for long.
Docs remove stats, heal combatants instantly, cure poison/disease, resuscitate, etc, etc. I feel that any combat group should at least contain one master doc in the mix. My most successful trips to the DWB for instance has always contained a doc.
