Don't worry, I won't fall off the thread....I just gotta get ready to travel 2000+ miles to get to the SW Celebration, so that I can eat breakfast with the devs....Then I will come back and share the wealth. However I normally post at work...and the Network guys blocked anything SW related (bastards). So I gotta post when I'm at home now. Anyways I leave tomorrow to start the long haul and to get some much needed R&R.

Well I'm sorry to hear you've burnt out on the bitter recriminations

But then that's just the hazard of these forums, both the yea and nay sayers come here to talk at each other rather than to each other. Of course that's bound to result in frustrations, as each side inevitably manages to irritate the other saying the same tired rubbish.

Cold comfort I know, but we're getting a lot of that lately andI shouldn't let it bother you. To be honest not posting so much for a while is probabaly a good course of action to take; although the time and effort invested in this game is considerable, it remains a just a game and best put down for a while when it ceases to be fun.

Anyway, look on the brightsideit hasn't got so bad thatour correspondent has been fired, which is more than I can say for the AS's.

Gift.

Had some fun with you when the CU was first announced Learned to accept those changes because I know they are for the best and really not all that bad.

Starting to lose all passion for the game though with all the stuff going on in the AS community. AS has always been my profession. My favorite since launch and the only profession I have not dropped.

I'm just going to wait this whole thing out and see what happens with the CU. I can tell you now that I prob won't be canceling any accounts, just love this game too much. I will have to though if no one else is playing.....

Heh... I've pretty much given up defending my stances, since people seem to think I'm an idiot.

But I've noticed one thing - posting about the CU is a lot like trying to argue about politics. You can yell and scream all you want, but you're not going to change the other person's mind.

Basically what is now happening is that the profession is no longer having a choice to make, it is beingbasically made for us,thus the seperation. Those of us who love crafting are being forced to an extent from multi-taskign(one of the reasons i was also a mcm). Secondly if not for crafting in the field people would be required to carry numerous and various stacks of medications or as one gent said standing at a vendor crafting which would mean that a non crafter would be standing right behind him/her waiting for them to finish so they can get the finished product. I have myself crafted many a buff pack or cm/doc meds becauseI had my items with me and due to the ability to be "unique" in the star wars galaxy in your profession I would even deliver meds to a battle since I was neutral. Thirdly on the TC it is required that you have scout 0040 in order to get to novice bio engineer. Not to flame on you but once you realise this you will also realise that it affects more than the doc/cm professions. With a prerequisite of scout 0040 (harvesting tree) a bio engineer is 5 less in harvesting than a master scout. This single change makes bio engineer more reliant on itself and not dependent on scouts or rangers as doctors and cms were as professions. This also erases the 100-200 cpu income of scouts for those self reliant bio engineers. Which if you wanna know what benefits that as a total package bio eng has versus the losses of the doctors and combat medics here is a few: the ability to craft self administered buffs, items for chefs, the bio eng supplements for tailors, pets and pet stims and the new stims for healing used by everyone.

As far as for taking up the bio engineer line for crafting that is only part of the problem as that there are new resources that have replaced our standard ingredients not to mention increasing the number of components, which you can review in your own time but that are also on this forum page. For many of us this is even more troubling because like myself some have chosed to unlock crafting experimentation and since it is no longer a direct line of cm/doc we have to surrender at the devs hands. So thus I for one (not naming all the others I have discussed this with) either A: lose all eth experimentation experience that I have put into this area since I won't be able to craft . Thereby in effect wasting one phase and requiring another to replace it. Or B: pick up scout 0040 and then bio engineer and begin trying to accumulater the vast resources that they have now restructured just to grind in effect spending millionsto acquire and this does not include time. Also none of these "new" schematics comes with optional fields i.e. inorganic or organic meaning a direct item is applied. So in this instance a person like me who has over 1million units of 900+oq/pe fungus in my safe deposit and an untold amount in my factories used to make the heart of poisons, it is no longer in any of the stims doc or cm.

Yeah I agree, I would hold off. From talking to a few AS friends of mine, they like the changes. I haven't really been following them, but I am hearing good and bad thing about most of the CU. The people that complain without knowledge is whats frustrating....but we all know how that is. Anyways yup I would just wait a bit, because AS is one of those profession that is being looked at very closely.
