I'm not sure about everyone else but when I play I spend most of my time looking for a group, once I find one another 30 minutes or more with prep then traveling to the destination. Short duration on buffs is just not possible. I spend far to much time waiting around for groups or travel to justify this.


Plus what doc would want to be part of a party where he needs to provide buffs every hour or so -- in a large party it would be very painful and mean more waiting around.


I would vote that duration be increased. Nothing inthis game happens at light speed!


No one complained about buffs until all this uber armor everyone is wearing become widely available. Remove the uber armor and the buff issue will disappear.


Additionally, nerfing this class would mean even less doc's being available. It's already hard enough finding people in this class

If it's not broke do not fix it!!! Lets just hope the Dev's stay away from the Doc profession -- it's really the only class I enjoy!


Since everyone I have ever played with has left the game and making new friends and watching them leave a month later is getting a little old, it's only the hope the xpack brings and playing the doc class that keeps me around. NOT This Jedi Circus!!!

The Developers has long communicated that Doctors buffs should provide small/medium power with long durations, where as the food and spices with the short duration should have the high power.

I cant wait to see this actually happen.
What i would like to see is long duration buffs that gives you that extra edge.

Im not looking forward to your vision of 30 min GOD-MODE buffs (yes its also due to armor, but bear with me).
What will happen if you make buffs 30 mins?
You will not only make doctor FOTM, you will also make it a nessecity.

To all those people who say don't fix the system because it isn't broken, maybe it isn't broken for you but it is for me.


The only places where I feel I need to play an active defensive role as a doc are the high end bunkers like the geo lab (and then only when not camped by jedi so ther'es nothing to kill), the death watch or things like that. But it is fun keeping a group together, getting to someone with that rez to save them when they thought they were doomed to decay and clone out. For many of you who play doctors, this is not a part of the profession you enjoy. So you think there is nothing broken, or you think there is no way that there would be enough defensive type players like me around.


Well there used to be. There used to be combat medics who healed, medics, and doctors back in the days when most people had pets to tank, instead of doing everything solo. I enjoyed that, but I have also ejoyed solo'ng too a litte. And I agree it will taste bitter to switch from soloing rancor back down to durni, but it never did make sense to me that the balance of the game got to the point where the only reason we need to group for most content, is so we can do it by ourselves ("Solo group anyone?"). That is a clear sign the system IS broken. They could up the difficulty of the missions an individual can pull, but then they would have to add new missions for groups. I suppose they could do that, but at the same time, its clear buffs got a huge boost with the introduction of bivoli and the removal of the randomness. Perhaps the developers did not fully expect what that would do.


I'm not sure we can go back, but I could live with short timers if that is the decision the developers make to balance our buffs.I would much prefer however that if they did that, instead of making all buffs thirty minutes that they split duration and base on the packs we are able to craft. It would make crafting them more interesting. So you could choose three hour buffs that dont enhance more than say 1000 or short ones that do the types of increases we have gotten used to seeing. Docs could separate out into those who want to park themselves to sell long term ones, and those who keep the shorter ones on hand for use in the field. Especialy if you can stil overwrite the longer buff with short ones if for example, you came across something much harder than you expected. If what they do increses our choices and strategy, then I could live with it decresing the power we have.
