Just to let you guys know, preliminary indications are, at least, that the Devs are aware of this problem. That also goes with the reminder that November is a definite no go for any of this, as it is still in the planning stages, apparently. Any such changes which will occur will hit Test Center first and that way we'll have a much better idea of when it will go live. And finally, from what I have seen, the Devs do sometimes work concepts out in steps, so it may be that they would impliment something like this, then turn around in the next publish and impliment something like folks ahve been suggesting here. So we'd be inconvenienced for a month, but it would be a temporary situation. (Of course it helps if we KNOW it will only be temporary, but you know that goes. )

I'm not real happy with this change. But if it ultimately leads to an actual function for Droid Engineers, and a more Star Warsy focus on droids over pets, then all in all its a good thing.

As it stands now, I hide behind my master creature handler friends' pets now, and only call my droid out when its time to apply an enhancement.

Our plan here is to first impost a very strict limitation: One pet, regardless of type. And later (but soon) to introduce exceptions to the rule based on the particular pet type. For example, your faction rank will be used to allow you to control more and better faction-perk pets. And your profession will influence the type and number of droid pets you can call (or the number you can call in addition to a creature pet). For example: Doctors, Medics, and/or Combat Medics might gain the ability to call a surgical droid even if they already have a pet of some other type called, whereas a Droid Engineer might be able to call a number of droids of any type, etc."
