Umm... isn't that what those Dev responses say?

It's useless. That's why everyone is talking it up - just a bit of sarcasm on the boards.

It is so not useless. I mean... what if you ever get a schematic that requires one corellian soft wood? That's pretty much free money right there.

In reality all /medicalforage does is it lets you find 1 unit of some random organic. I played around one time and it took me about 10 minutes to get a second unit of an organic.

For me .... medical forage is very useful ... every time i do a /med in an attempt to meditate, i get a free unit of a random organic! Woot.

Medical forage is great, all you have to do is write a macro and sit back and what about 24 hours and will have enought resources to make a stim a.

I know /medicalforage didn't work for the longest time. Now you can manually stack the foraged items. I am having trouble getting them to automatically stack. Am I missing something or is that not an option.

I should have made the title Medical Forage WORKS.....kinda! Then people would be more willing to read it. oh well. I am also having a problem with Stim D. I have a food and chem crafting tool and I go to the food and chem crafting station. When I open my crafting tool, no schematic for Stim D. I went to my draft schematics and it shows Stim D there. What gives?

Stim D only shows up when you use a Private crafting station (i.e. a crafting driod or a station purchased from an architect and placed in a house or other player structure). In regards to medical forage, stacking was/is nowhere near the biggest problem. The skill is useless, you'll need to pick up artisan for survey skills or find a supplier for your resources.

eggs don't autostack either.

I think medforage worked usefully for all of 2 weeks in beta!

Longer, Shirley? I can't really remember.

I do remember medical forage being useful though. I actually did forage in groups or when I was out on long trips. In fact it was one feature which made it a little easier for starting medics. One time I actually ran from Moenia to Dee'ja Peak (without having any terrain negotiation!) fighting hard critters like Kaadu and Shaupaut while foraging to build A's whenever I ran out. It was a blast since I had all kinds of weapons from the Tool Dispensers to play with. The run took all evening and I eventually wound up stuck in a cave near Dee'ja (which reminds me, that cave is no longer there is it?).

It worked well enough if the purpose was to provide newb medics with a way to make stimpacks. Later replaced with tend commands. I wonder what the status is on medical forage, last I heard (I think) was Holo saying they were working on a new implementation.

I think I might /medicalforage later, just for old times sake.

You are a bad person.. and stop calling me Shirley.

I think that /medicalforage plan got shelved long ago... was that the one that foraged the medicine optional booster items? Or was it the one where he gave us a few choices, and there was no consensus on what we wanted (like usual? )?

I actually was medical foraging the other day, while hanging around the starport looking fro a friend. Used it to check stats on some grains...

Combined with cheap As.. /medforage ws soo overpowerd.. actually Med As themselves were so overpowered back then. There was one point where I was the only person I knew that owned a stim C.

I'm not sure I understand the question here. /medicalforage has always worked by gathering one random organic resource from all of the available organic resources on that planet. We've always been able to stack the exact same resource on top of any other stacks of the exact same resource by dragging one stack and dropping it on another. So they've always stacked just fine as well.

Of course the problem, as mentioned, is that /medicalforage is basically useless for any purpose other than to pick up random samples of organics to check stats on. I mean what good does one random organic do you? Since it rancomly pulls from the whole list of organics available (well, other than the /harvestable one) it would take forever to get enough of the same organics to make a stack out of that you could even make anything with.

So in that particular sense, you could say that /medicalforage has never worked (on live... it did work for making Stim As for all of 1 week in Beta before they changed the Stim A schematic.)
