I like wearing my Master Doc tag also and the tells can be a little annoying, but I've found them a quick way to keep the cash flowing.

I can always use another 10k so if I'm just waiting for a shuttle or am otherwise not currently in a rush, I whip out ol' "Get-Buffed-Here" and press my buff macro. I never use bivoli or worry about my BF or anything. Think of it like a weekend job, if someone offered you a lot of money for a moment of your otherwise unoccupied time and all you have to do is whip out a droid and press a button, why not take it? If I'm in a really remote spot, I'll even gouge a little.

"Hmm, I guess the fact I'm wearing full comp and standing at the starport/running in your field of view really is a way of saying, I'm at your service to buff you"
"Hmm, as I am sitting on the ground with my medical droid "Get-Buffed-Here" out and I have a line in front of me getting treatment, you might be safe to send a /tell asking if I'm buffing, just to be sure."

I do something similar.

I don't usually craft my own buffs, but one time I decided to try it. I didn't have much cash, so I gathered my own resources. They were laughably bad, and as such my Enhance D's came out with a 2 hour duration and +1200 to stats. So sometimes if I'm at Ft. Tusken, or some other remote spot, no other doctors around, and people are asking for buffs, I've found that people are happy to pay 4 or 5k for such low quality buffs rather than take the time to fly to Coronet and get a good buff.

As long as I make it clear to people how much the buffs suck, then they don't mind. And I make a few extra credits here and there.

I had a Force sensitive character, with 23 and a half boxes ground out.
I had a master creature handler.
I had a high lvl crafter character.
I had a Bounty Hunter that I hunted PC Jedi with.

My game is dead.

Yes we all get this - it can be very annoying.

The only cure is not to wear your MD tag =]

I had my Master Doctor tag on once, when I first mastered. Since then, battlemaster 24/7

I keep my Pistoleer title up. However I still don't mind the tells at all. I have heard everyone's horror stories about rude peeps and what not. So far only one player has made my Ban list for spamming and deciet. And one player for killing me while I was buffing. Other than that one of my favorite things to do in game is to sit and buff people. I meet lots of peeps, andhave repeat customer whose names I know from buffing so much. I enjoy the tells, and all the role playing that they do while i enhance them. For this reason alone i love being doc. I havent hunted in weeks because I love buffing people. I would buff more, but finding quality buf packs for a good price is hard sometimes and I don't have the resource stock pile yet t o craft my own.

Just wait til you build up a reputation and customer base. Having been doc for almost 9 months now, people know me... and generally like me since I'm one of those "nice" people. As such, I get tells from common customers alot, and even from people I've never met or that I just don't know [I can't memorize the name of every person I buff, heh].

So, I never wear Master Doc *except* when I'm public buffing, but the tells really aren't too much different for me anymore.

It gets worse. Once you've become a Master Doc, you can expect to have your name added to lots of people's friends list. I've avoided my MD tag for around 3-4 months now, since I finished Merchant, when I lived at Coronet Starport for a couple months dealing buffs for the masses. Once a sizable crowd knows you're a Doc, you're everyone's newest, bestest friend.

I'mglad I don't have to sell buffsanymore, as it gets out of hand, being abuff-monkey to the screaming hordes (okay, it's not THAT bad). I keep my combat prof tag on all the time now, just to limit the sheer number of tells I get from people I don't remember. I'll travel halfway across the galaxy to buff a friend or guildie, but I hate being told I HAVE to come rez or buffthem. When I need to buff myself, I actually hide first.

It's not so bad when people want buffs and it's not on your schedule, tell them well I could buff you but since I'm in the middle of something else it will be 50k for me to break my schedule to buff you. Some people are stupid enough to pay it or they leave you alone. Works out either way.
