Not to make light of this thread, cause I do feel for the crafters who have basically honed their craft into an artform. But it's times like this I'm thankful that I'm one step up the chain as a resource vendor as opposed to a crafter.

Having said that, I was, and have been for the longest time feeling that as a resource vendor, I've always been on the outside looking in to the crafter world, s*cks that the cu "might" make all that disappear.

I don't think it will disapear. The one thing "true" crafters like about this game is the way Crafting is set up. The CU will definantly change things, but I just don't think SOE is going to NERF that. Yes we may need to pick up BE to get our crafting fix....but we will see how things turn out as more info becomes avalible.

and i think its ridiculous that our crafting tree is being moved to a profession that has absolutely no reason to be handling anything Medical....... BE's have enough in their plate already. all this move does is make it impossible for a master doc to master a combat profession and be viable in pveif he wants to continue to craft his own medicines.

Umm in order to even become a BE you must pick up Medic 0/0/0/4...Which happens to be the crafting line. While BE may not directly relate to "Healers";they are the kings of stims already, and are able to make pet stims that anyone can use. I wouldn't let it bother you just yet. Lets wait and see how the CU is going to actually add to our profession.

Furthermore, we don't know how the CU is going to change the SP requirements. Who knows, may we will be able to pick up MBE (or atleast the crafting line) and still have a combat or other Elite Profession. We don't know yet.

Edit : Someone smash me in the head with the Spelling Bat. Grrr.

Really?

How exactly are they the kings of stims? As an ex-BE and current (for now at least) crafting Doctor I know full well that Doc crafted subcomponents are way superior to anything a BE can craft in the current system. To make 'uber' petstims a BE has to have the subcomp schematics made by a Doctor.

I'm prepared to wait & see how things pan out when the CURB hits live but I can't help feeling that I'm being bent over and sh@fted along with the rest of the crafting Doc population.

I alsoam an ex-BE, but I also had Doctor at the time, so maybeI didn't notice the impact as much. However I'm curious about your final statement. If you are a "Crafting Doc" then I don't understand what the big deal is. Respec in BE, or maybe SOE will allow MD's to pick up BE. Who knows. I mean as it is, BE is a Hybrid Profession anyways, not an "Elite"

But regardless there is just simply not enough information avalible to get upset. Yes things are and will change, but we will also get other stuff to make up for what we "loose". Plus on the good side...no more "NEED CRATFIN MACOR" Posts. And yes I spelled that wrong on purpose.

Lets just see where SOE takes it before we start getting bent out of shape....really no point to do so right now, we don't know enough.

My fault, I should have been a little moreclear in my original post

I class myself as a 'Crafting Doc' because Imake & sell buffs/meds as opposed to buying them. I alsouse them onmyself & friends.

Yes, I couldpickup BE again after the CURB to continue crafting but it's unlikely that I'll have enoughskillpoints to keep Master Doctor. As things look now I'll be able to craftbuffs (but be unable to use them) OR use them but be unable to craft them myself.

I'll rephrase slightly

I'm prepared to wait & see how things pan out when the CURB hits live but I can't help feeling that I'm being bent over and sh@fted along with the rest of the crafting Doc population.

Perhaps its time to go weaponsmith or armorsmith?

If your looking for a serious crafting challenge under the current system, don't both with weaponsmithing. With the overabundance of loot enhancements and the dramatic effect of slicing, base assembly makesmake little to noimpact on the quality of the final weapon. Creating fine weapons has become little more than gathering loot, and praying for a great slice.

Take a DX6Rb Tenloss Rifle. I used to consider a 361 damage weapon with condition of greater than 1100 to be a something to be proud to have created. Someone with lesser materialsfor the stock, the power handlers or the final weapon assembly could never make such a thing. A smuggler could take that weapon, and with a perfect slice, get it too 487 max damage. Now with Krayt Tissues and Gorax Shards in ample supply, Geo Cubes appearing with max damage stats in the +50s, and ADKs in every Vets inventory, a470 point acid rifle is little more than asmugglers failure sold off cheap for someones grindage. Nowa sliced weapon needs to be in themid 600sto be something worth of being pround of.

The change is even more noticeable in the weapons with lighter damage and higher speeds. The last Geo Blaster I created, gained morethan a 100% damage boost from the Krayt & Geo loot that were used. If it gets a good slice, it could be more than 270% enhanced over a base weapon crafted with the finest matertials. What's 4-5% during assembly, compared to changes like that?
