Doctor Heals in Detail:
Bactashot (Basic at Novice Medic, Improved at 2xxx Doctor)
Effects: 660-704
Range: 10m
Recharge: 9,5 seconds

Bactajab(Basic at Novice Doctor, Improved at 3xxx Doctor, Advanced at Master Doctor)
Effect: 266-313*
Range: 10m
Recharge: 6 seconds
*I believe this is broken at the moment. Might be that /bactajab doesnt use Advanced Bacta Jab. Might change after the next publish that is supposed to adress this.

NOTE: By swapping quickly between Bactashot + Bactajab you get a really quick healing.

I just wanted to put in a little note about this. I actually spoke to a Dev in person at the Indy Breakfast, and he told me that the driving purpose of Bactajab is to switch between the two like your note says.

So basically Bactajab is not buged, it is a reinforcement to bactashot.

BTW good work.

I just want to know, from a straight healing standpoint, why are our heals so close to Combat Medic? IF all we want doc for is to be able to heal yourself and others quickly in battle wouldn't it make more sense just to have Combat Medic instead of using more skill points on Doc? Combat Medics can attack and heal, and there heals are very close to Docs.

I switched to CM yesturday to just try it out, and I hated it. Everything is on the same timers, so it felt like I was healing slower. Infact I hated CM so much I just logged off, and now I'm waiting for Starsider to come back online so I can switch back.

Because of the area cures, I was getting agroed 75% of the time, I died about 15 times, and honestly I couldn't even heal fast enough because of this minor....."flaw". So today I will be switching back to Doctor / Pikeman, and I'm pretty sure I will just leave it at that.

Doctors are far "safer" to play imo. Now we could definantly use a boost in healing power, and for the love of yoda I wish they would raise heal wounds. A master Doctor should not be healing wounds like a novice medic was in the old system.....and it's just frustrating.

I've been playing with MD/MCM and liked it, but I was wondering if I would notice anything if I dropped doc and just used to CM healing powers. Then I could pick up another fighting prof like Carbineer. But if what you say is right, I don't think I'll be doing it!

Well, your probably better off tring both while the Respec is in play...that would be my suggestion. I honestly couldn't stand the CM / Doc combo....I just felt like when healing with CM I was a bigger target because I was area healing people for 500. Now with 8 people that is about 4000 points. Because people hadn't done that much damage I was getting agro'ed and they werent.

I probably would have had a better time with CM and some type of ranged profession, but I dunno, I really didn't like how CM played just because of the area healing power. I would much rather heal one person for 500ish.

I didn't notice any difference from Doc / Pike and Doc / CM except I was getting attacked way more with Doc / CM, and I couldn't defend myself. But I would suggest you play with it, you can respect every 12 hours, so be carefull. Don't be like me and try it just to find out you suck.

I'll try it, the only problem is I can only play from Fiday-Sunday (Weekends) so that leaves me a very little window to respec my character. How long do I get to respec? 2 weeks right?

i do have to agree with the fact that it makes very little sense thatbacta shot can heal for 700+ while the master doc skill of advanced bacta jab barely hits for half that much. but i also agree with the fact that the system is designed for us to switch between heals. my combat toolbar has 4 different heals (not counting the state/dot heals) that i swap between uses.

on another issue, the adrenal boost buff is very handy IMO. from what i've seen just using it on myself, it lets you do everything from attacking, to healing, to flipping off the devs () much faster in combat.

i don't really like the CU cause i was a crafting doc but i also took up weaponsmith so i'm still getting my crafting fix (i know, i'm sick, i actually like crafting). i'm not really sure how much longer i'll stick around but i'm here for a bit at least

I think I'm enjoying MD/MCM, although I still want to try it without doc and see if I notice a big difference in healing. Buffs are still useful, especially in PVP as they give the extra push you need. And I also agree that the adrenaline seems to help a lot. I would automatically pick doc if our heals were just a little more powerful, although I have to look more into swapping them. Thanks for the info everyone!

Ok today was the first time I was able to log in as a master doc/master carbineer and play. It went badly, but mainly because I was trying to rework my hotkeys and the rest of the group decided to go ahead and pull a trio of pikets. That and one of the group members was declared factionally, so I couldn't heal her. I'll admit, when my server came around for it's 18 hours of testing, I logged in, got mad ebcause all my med were worthless stims, and logged off. Not that I could have tested anything anyways, I only found one other player. So this guide is exactly what I needed to help me set up my hotkeys for somewhat effective healing. When/if the servers come back up I will have a waiting group and dive right in and get the hang of it, I may even be able to fire a few shots.

Just noticed from the patch notes Master Doctor is to get a BactaShot2 command which will hopefully be of suitable strenght. This, I guess, should be in the next patch to live. Will test as soon as possible but would think someone based in the US can get there faster than me.

EDIT: The clicky didn't sticky! Take 2...

The question is this: Given that God is infinite, and that the universe is also infinite, would you like a toasted tea-cake?

/Revive (the doctor command) gives the target 30 seconds of grogginess and revives them with 1k health.

/Resusitate (the CM rez) gives the target 60 seconds of groggieness and revives them with 250-300 health.

Both require the same amount of Mind

Both have the same warm-up time.

An interesting thing about the cooldown though is that if you do a /revive, the /resusitate command will be available before the /revive is available again. It's useful if you are master doc/master cm and need to rez a larger number of people (although half of those people will have 30 seconds more cool-down).
