1) Less than Great Assembly.
If you ever getlower successthan great success on an assembly, then it will help to increase your assembly skill. Less than great success gives youlower starting values whenexperimenting.
2) Amazing Assembly.
Currently there isn't any visible difference between great and amazing success on the assembly. Either the developers neglected to reward amazing assemblies, or it will give a hidden bonus to experimentation.
3) Critical Failures on Assembly.
Your experiment skill doesn't seem to affect failures on experimentation once you get close to master. Critical failures then only comes from the roll. If the assembly rules mirror the experiment rules, then higher skill won't help you prevent critical failures on assembly. Eating Pyollian Cake is more likely to help out since it gives a bonus to the roll.
Part 2 and 3 is still unknown and I personally suspect the assembly skilldon't help with thoseright now. StillI recommendtocollect the assembly tapes just in case as long as you don't have to pay too much. Who knows what changes will come in the future.
But, the most important thingis the resources. After that the experiment tapes, primarily for the extra experiment points.

Rere wrote:It can be quiteworth for Docs if you're used todeal with Janta Blood in aregular basis too. Losing some 200+ power Janta Blood right on the assembly it's probably one of the most frustrating experiences within the profession.
But yeah, it's definitely not as important for Docs as it is for WS and AS.
True, but then again - i crafted maybe 500 bloods until now and i can't remember 1 crit. fail on the assembly process. I don't even use the Apron and have just the assembly i get from Master.
So i stick to it: It's worthless. On the other hand i consider to get the FS-line with Experimentation (4xxx in Craftin Mastery)*, because it seems to increase Amazing Success's on the expermentating process alot. So if anybody wants to increase the abilities, do that, because even with 12pts there are some Meds that profit from it (mu 40 Stim E for example) or at least you need simply less tries to get the amount of amazings you want to get.
*) I know it's an ugly grind and nearly impossible with Doctor crafting, so better try to pick up DE 0002 and do the Droid Chassis there.

Well, it's definitely an opinion thing ... and I on the other hand, did lost ita few nice Janta Bloods sets due to critical failures in the assembling process.Which was quite annoying.
So I'll stickwithwhat Lunariel said - it's useful as long as you don't have to pay too much for it.

Apologies, Rere. I did not intend to step on your toes.
Your follow up post was very well stated and accurate.
