I can neither confirm nor deny that the above scenario happened or not.


But, if it did happen, it may have been due to the fact that certain parties believed I/we were against the crafting changes/move because we are/were/will be buffbots and merchant docs who craft and not heal.







Ahhh....well I am neither. But I like having consumables...I Like giving crafters a reason to craft. I LIKE SPENDING MONEY......


I don't care if I can't craft.....what I do care about is having wasted 30 million on a +12 crafting suit just because I could. What I do care about is basically wasting 5 months of prep time on a new server just to compete with other Doctors Resources. Now I realize that resources haven't been touched yet.....but that is what makes me mad. So I can't craft, don't care, give my suit away or sell it cheap....but if I end up with millions of reasources that no one wants or can use I'm gonna be pretty upset about that fact.


Atleast if we had consumables we could sell or trade with BE's to get a product. But as it is right now, its all ability healing, and as I said before, I'm gonna be very frustrated is Zabrak is considered a "Fighter" not a "Healer", and I can't change races without removing my toon and starting over.


Other then that I'm happy with the new changes, just because it sounds like "EQ" doesn't mean half the stuff isn't in the game already....

For the record, MyT, I'm not a buffbot either. And I haven't sold a stim in over a year and a half...


So imagine my surprise when/if what may or may not have been said about being greedy was/wasn't said.

edit: At least for the Med Crafting part. If not, there's gonna be some pissed off Med Crafters who have +12 now...

I hope many of the "doomsday" thread contributors now realize that the Combat Upgrade will not be the downfall of Doctor. Crafting can still be done with no additional skill point usage. Healing will be just as effective in keeping your character and group alive. (I would think it would be much more valuable without uber buffs.) And if you want to craft to improve your healing even more, that is still possible.

The thing I disagree with is a response post by TH where he said there would be no implimentation device for medics or docs to heal. Instead, it will be "magical." I don't see how having some kind of "hypospray" would be problematic. Artisans require a tool to scan for resources. They don't just magically realize if there is iron under the ground. Considering the inventory now has an 80 item capacity, using up one spot for a healing tool is not a problem. It keeps healing on the science fiction side of the sci-fi/fantasy line that Star Wars jumps between. Since the healing is not related to the force, it shouldn't be fantasy-based.

Just mu thoughts.

Actually, I won't be able to keep my current template and still craft.


I'd have to drop Master Medic...not that there will be much point in master medic anyway...just saying *shrug*

I may or may not remember or have been the subject of what may or may not have been said.

You know what.....thanks, you just got my blood a pumping.....


As it is right now this very second, Doctor is a "Power Profession". We can Sell, Heal and, Buff....we have 3 inlets of cashflow. And none of us can deny that. I mean really we are a good well rounded "do it yourself" type of profession. And with the exception of a few bumps...we really don't need help from anyone to "do it all".


Now I've said it before, I'm a well rounded Doctor, I know how to sell, heal, and buff to get what I want, but I do not do any of those exclusively. I consider myself "The Doctor" of this game. There are many people like me, however....A lot of people in this profession *DO* "Sell....Buffs". And it really makes my blood boil to even think about that "Scenario".


On one hand I understand what the "Devs"might have said in this hypothetical scenario. I mean the GP knows "Doctors" (And I use that term ***EXTREMELY*** losely) as "Sell....Buffs". But not all Doctor, infact not even 5% of the ***REAL*** Doctors that play are like that. Because us ***REAL*** Doctors realize that "Sell...Buffs" is not a good cash turn around in most cases.


So in this hypothetical scenario the "Devs" just basically said to me....hypothetically speaking of course that (And I knowthis isn't aDoctor analogy)"All Entertainers play AFK.....because that's what we are known for"......WHAT! Are you kidding me!!! Just because you can....doesn't me we ARE / WERE / WILL BE playing AFK 24/7days a WEEK...Botting and Selling!


I DO NOT, NEVER HAVE, and NEVER WILL BE A BUFF BOT or MERCHANT DOC. Hypothetically speaking of course...I mean because this scenerio never happened.


I am an All Around Doctor....."The Doctor" in this game....and I'm not going to change myself just because some Jerk can AFK grind my profession, buff people AFK with a FREAKING MACRO and ruinwhat"The Doctors"have worked hard for. Hypothetically speaking you can't base a whole profession on the retardedness (Don't even think thats a word)of a group of jerks,griefers, and AFKers!


So now that we have that scenerio out of the way...*Deep breath*...Here is what I think about the changes.


"The Doctor" play style really isn't lost **as long as** you are willing to give up something in return. BE no longer requires any Scout...only Medical Crafting, so technically "The Doctor" playstyle isn't really lost. Technically we can still craft, sell, buff if we keep "The Doctor" template. But as I said we have to give upa Master Profession to do so. I mean it won't do much good but I believe you can pike up Master Brawler or Marksman....I haven't done the math, so I dunno.


I can deal with the "magic healing" as long as I can be a healer...which is what I consider myself as....I'm not a Crafter and I'm not really a buffer. I like the CU, I think it will be very good for the game. I think it will be fun, and I don't think anything will really be lost because we can't craft any more.


But.....thats just my 2 cents on a Scenerio that could never happen.

So from having maybe 100 schems to craft if you are a MCM or MD, you will now have two things to craft as a BE med crafter, Enhancers and Stims? The only part of SWG I enjoy at the moment is the crafting part, and this really doesn't seem much fun.. And what about the stockpiles of specific resources I've gathered since the start of the game? Titanium aluminium, Class 4 Liquid, Eleton Reactive, Herbivore Meat and so on.. are they going to transfer all these resources to two different schems?


And magical healing.. what is up with that? I can see itwork in fantasy games, but in SWG it only seems wrong and kills the immersion..


At least this CU might free up one of my accounts, as I can be Chef/Med crafter at the same time..

Sad Sad day indeed for the doctor profession. No more meeningfull crafting . Ill be sad to cancel one of my accounts but it has to be done. Dru was the 3rd master doctor on our server and Ill be sad to see him go .

Look on the bright side though ill be saving $15 a month . Now to see what they do with my jedi account hahaha.

Anyway sorry for the death of this honourable profession , all for the call of progress i spose

Any word on the cybernetics? I'd thought I'd heard talk that Docs would be the ones implanting such devices... but if med crafting has moved over to Medic and BE seems like the cybernetic (if indeed they aren't loot) might be moved over there as well.


If its a craftable item... it would almost make sense that BE's would make them, and Docs would implant them. But SWG doesn't necessarily go for what makes sense.
