Greetings,
Actually, these are already in the game, under the name of “Artisan Mission Terminals,” and the spit out everyone’s favorite survey missions. All you need is Novice Artisan to bring in upwards of 20,000c an hour just by running across town. As for Entertainer’s missions, its laughable - you have to dance or play for upwards of 10 minutes (in addition to the time needed to run around and find the locations and/or NPCs), and get less than 300c for your efforts most times. A happy middle ground would be nice for medics (and the poor entertainers’ really should get a mission payout boost), which scales by skill. The basic idea would be (similar to what someone else suggested):
1) Take a mission from the terminal, who gives you the location of the supplier.
2) Talk to an NPC in town who gives you a schematic, and the location of the patent.
3) Use your newly created item on the patent, who gives you your reward.
This would allow the missions to scale as the medics’ skills increase, just as the combat missions improve with better weapon skills (higher level missions would require more advanced parts).
..but where does it stop?
Bio-engineer terminals?
Chef terminals?

Chef mission terminals would be kinda cool... like they have to "Cater" to someone or something. I'm sure you can use your imagination
