Thread: Lets raise the price for buffs

If I charged 1c/point buffed, I'd be out of business in a day. I reduced the price ofmy Enhance D buffs from 6k a set to 5k aset, and make a good living at it, over 200k per 3-4 shift.

Since I routinely pull-off 3000-3400 point buffs, I'd have a hard time charging over 15k for a set of buffs that only last 3 hours. I have the occasional person telling me they got all six buffs from so-and-so somewhere else for 3k, so I can't see that working.

As for B's and C's selling at 1c per point, that would elevate the cost of those lower strength buffs well above what most MasterDocs charge for premium buffs, again killing any chance of sales for Novice Docs.

I charge 5k a set they hit from avg of 1700-2800 all over 10k duration if hits under 1k its free it's funny seeing docs charging 12k for a full set hey for some people that extra 200-300 points its worth it to them but to most it isnt, at 5k a set i make at least 75% profit i see no need to rip people off and charge them anymore for buffs.

Explain just how its ripping people off? There is no set price that you can say is fair or not fair, and with the economy on my server I wouldn't feel bad charging 20k for a set of buffs. (See Bloodfin being flooded with billions of duped credits.)

Ripping people off...maybe, that is one's opinion. Making money...yes. I guess I just see myself as a Capitalist.

Rather than flat out raising the price of buffs, I also briefly tried out a 'pricing plan' on buffs shortly before I left for the break...I actually buffed more people (other than myself) than I had for a week or so, but that was probably because no other master doc was buffing at that same time.
Anyways, I tested out the '1cr per point' system, and did get a few customers. However, seeing as how my current buffs don't last that long (242 DR gas, gonna use 800 DR gas soon...) and I don't want to be that far apart from whatever competition there might be, I think that charging a low set price for buffing service (maybe 2-3k), then .5cr per point buffed would be the fairest pricing for both the customer and still a good money-making pricing for the doctors. I figure if all of my enhances somehow are all below 1k, I still make 4k creds minimum, and if they aren't, well, that's 6-8k creds minimum. This system isn't entirely dependent on the randomness of my buffs, nor is it throwing out my time and effort of buffing that person. I can only hope that dividing the buffed number by half and tipping me creds will not be too straining for whoever wants the buffs.
Of course, I have been out of the buffing buisness per se, but I hope to test this out when I'm back (and replenish my depleting store of creds).

No forced interaction (in an MMORPG?), but hey, the expansions sure seem forced.

I used to charge 10k per set, and people were more than happy to pay it, when they saw their stats go up by 2k to 3k. It wasn't a bad price, since i put a lot of time and effort into getting the best resources. This was back in September, when not many people were buffing. Or that well for that matter.

Some people just don't understand that, and wanted to pay 3k or lower for buffs.

Now that everyone can buff that well, people want to pay a max of 5k. =(

I charge 1 credit per unit enhanced and I still recieve tons of business. On the higher end "D" level enhancements, that can equate to 11k in buffs. I make people tip after each buff so you dont have to add up. I do not start next buff until payment for last buff was recieved.

This also is fair for lower level buffs, as people can not be cheated by this system, i.e. 5k for weak "D" buffs.

I do the exact same thing. Works well for me.

when i give buffs i give guild mates them for free or if i am in a group hunting i give them for free to every one grouped with me. but if im just standing in a med center i ask the people what they want to pay and thats what i do.
