And BTW I forgot to mention that my second character is a master doctor. I know of the pains of harvesting 32k of herb meat and 23k of avian, and the hours spent on a speeder looking for good deposits and the weeks waiting in between them. I now realize that stars are pointless when you get 1/5 for "good math and logic." I guess it's only a popularity contest and I lost.

I have never had "pains" surveying for the good stuff. I actively use guild chat to check with other people to see if a resourse has shifted in, usually find it before it is posted on SWGCraft.com. Then with my uber novice artisan survey skills, set out towards known large flatspots and hope. The last 2 uber shifts of medical resourses that spawned on Lowca, I was the first to find with minimal survey skills. I found a 90% spot of 944 oq dolovite, and a 72% spot of 957/500'ish Lok W.Wheat. You must be very proactive in your profession if you wish to get ahead. As for meats..well, free buffs to guildies as long as they come to me, inspires them to hunt whatever meats i deem worthy for buffs. I will hunt myself, to ensure I have enough, but you get a guild handing you 2-5k stacks of meat every few days, and you are set for a while.

My siggie got nerfed.

It was due for a change anyways

Regarding the 'why charge 12k?' thread, a few mroe variables were left out. Off the top of my head:

1) city taxes to cover the expense of maintaing a research center for added experimentation bonuses

2) wasted resources used in the plethora offailed crafting attempts while trying to get to the ultimate buff schematics

3) droid batteries

4) bivoli

5) havla (when needed)

6) one time costs of med droid, BE clothes

7) potential costs of obtaining enough attachments to improve injury (buffing) treatment speed

8) potential costs of obtaining enough attachments to improve medical experimentation

9) the loss of hours on end dealing with the people in buff lines, the complaints, the questions, the extra wound and state heals we throw in for free, the BF diagnostic advice we provide, etc.

I am sure there are more... Fact of the matter is, by the time anyone who is not a long time doc gets up to a reasonable par with the exisitng docs, they have spent so many millions of credits that they may never recoup it all unless they essentially stop playing the game and become permanent buffers.

Fact of the matter is, I can make more money than I can as doc doing any number of things I enjoy more in the game. BUT, I do buff from time to time to make it more fun for others, but I do not beleive anyone's logic who tries to discout the value of my time and effort when arguing about the price of buffs. What exactly were the 10 hours of experimentation for those really nice buff packs worth for example? If buffs were appropriately priced, they would be 50k MINIMUM each in my opinion.

Sure, tot he orginal harvestor of all the original uber resources, 10k each might be a great price, but not to everyone since... At least not until an entirely new crop of uber resources spawns.

I would easily charge 50k if I could. Hell, if I got 1k for everytime someone sends me a /tell when I'm walking around minding my own buisness or already buffing, asking me if I'm doing buffs, I wouldn't need to be a master doc, because I'd probably rack in 50k an hour sitting around doing nothing!

Theguy that brought up the 12k buffs, I'm not gonna jump on you. In fact, I'll 5 Star ya for asking in a civilized manner with relatively factual data.

I've been a Master Doc since 10/03 and a Master Medic even longer. I harvested all my own resources from the beginning and have the uber stuff from past and present...using just my own 10 lots. My costs for a buff set are miniscle compared to what they sell for. The two reasons I still charge:

1. The heck we Docs put up with from those not happy with what they get, the wait, the price, etc.

2. The 20mill credits I spent getting the total +25 Med experimation/+22 Med Assembly tapes. Figure that into the cost of a buff pack BTW, still looking for that other +3 Assembly

All in all, I love my professions. I make more $$$ as a MTK but have made way more friends as a Doc. That's the main reason I am still a Doc, plus I love bailing out the party in a tight spot.
