I have a surgical droid for when I'm selling buffs. People see one pop out and they immediately start asking.
I have a power droid for when I want to heal or buff myself and my group without anyone asking me to buff them.
I have a binary load lifter for when I want to amuse myself with my awesome looking droid.
I've never used a droid for anything other than its looks and the bonus, so I can't really comment on their other uses.

i have 110 med r3 with 6 storage and a built in chemical station but i dont know how good it is. All that it does is let me expirament with the meds i make.

A droid parked on your head is rather annoying. However, you can teach it the stay command and tell it to'stay'; walk a short distance away and continue your buffing.

I bought an ADV R3 droid with 6 storage comps, 110 med, medium armorand all 4 crafting stations.
I think that's pretty much all that you need in a droid, apart from combat ofcourse.

I actually have 5 droids, almost all with at the very least, 110 med & 10 item storage. Everyone knows my droids by name, and I pull them depending on my mood.
Meeps - Adv. R3 - repair, 110 med, storage, 150 data, 1600 HAM, food & chem crafting, weapon crafting
Pokey - Probot - 110 med, storage
Beeps - DZ70 - 110 med, storage (looking to replace this one with another model)
Stompy - power droid - storage, power (checking to see if I can get a med module in him)
Shakes - DZ70 - Storage, 110 med
The funny part is, before the patch that standardized buffs, my regulars insisted certain droids were good luck, and demanded I use that particular one to buff them, Meeps being the most popular. I think my customers like my droids better than me.
