Not sure how a rifleman can defeat it.

If they can I would really like to know how.

Jawa ion stun damage. And after 50% healthis goneall defenses drop and that mob will drop below 100% to those damage types.

for group play..... you said support class.... I dont think you would want melee.... your are too close to the mob to heal people, riflemen are too far away from the mob to heal the tanks, carbineer would be pretty good, as would pistoleer. If you did go melee, it wouldnt be that bad, if your group if fighting one big thing, melee would be fine, heal the guy next to you, easy.... but if your group is spread out - 3 or 4 different mobs, and 3 or 4 different tanks- you wont be able to heal them all if they spread out

Im pleased with my Heavy Sword. Taking down the Mind quickly rips most heavy creatures. I have the ability to use blast Power hammer too if I need to. From a support standpoint If I need to heal melee players and get attacked I can rock regardless if they are very resistent to Kinetic dmg. Area Attack seems to help everyone out. I love it when I wear my Master Doc tag and they ask me to support the group and then I go out and do the most dmg. Its great fun...

I don't know about most Docs but an honorable Klingon Wookiee needs the glory of battle. If I'm not taking dmg something is just not right....

Im master Doc and master Pikeman. Since Im primarly takes the role as doc in battles I only do some poking with my stick (NS lance with some nasty diseases and poisons) when they get to close to me or my patient. They usually try to shoot me out from longrange instead after that. Besides you almost need to be a doctor to play pike at all Devastating drains on your pools when using styles.

master doc master swordsman with out a doubt i di dmaster doc master tk which was alsogood but for pve it got to be swordsman. i can just wander into a group of crazed geoa's and area 3 and take alll 20 at once piece of piss ust heal the dizzy's they put on me straight away. medium ap blast damage and kinetic damage is great. tk has bette rdefence but if you intend on doing the high pve a doc/comabt prof can do the medium armour really buggers tk's up, go swordsman get a good scythe 2 ph's one damage one speed and swing away errol. ps pikeman is supposed to be a good pve prof as well but never done it my self tbh

go tka fencer pikeman or swordsmen. All ranged proffesions suck. Actually i just like melee the best. But swordsmen is the best PVE melee and it can do well in pvp if you know what your doing.

Master Doc/Riflemen.. by far the best combo i've ever seen. you do alot of mind cost but since i've had it i've never been killed by a melee profession. TKM going aginst full comp is realient on Dizzy/KD and all u do is spam stand and healstate dizzy and you can heal yourself in 3 seconds.

Jawa absolutly owns helmets and if that doenst work just pull out that t21. Also Riflemen own every high level mob that does't have 100 to riflmen guns. Ex. Krayts, ELders, Rangers. TKM vs. them is like a novice marksmen shooting at a enraged rancor its just not in teh cards. esp for AT-ST i can solo one before TKM's can even touch me threw my comp. only way TKM have a chance is if they find some 200 max dmg vibromotors and double slice their knucklers (fixed). Bottem line is do what ever you like the most but i highly suggest Riflemen.

/agree

For everyone saying TKM/doc have you tried fencer yet? The other day I was only 0303 fencer and easily took down a master commando (after running from him for about 300 meters to let my mind regen) and some tk not sure if master or not.... buffed of course ....

at the moment I'm 2444 and can't wait to get home so i can master tonight .... even at 0303 I was sooooo much tougher than I EVER was with tkm ... i'll miss the meditate but for the most part that's all i'll miss ... i HATE having ONLY kinetic to fight with (TKA) .... at least with fencer you get stun and swordsman you get blast .... not sure about pikeman as i haven't done that ....

I'll never run from that stupid janta rockshaper again!

I'm like Gooney, and Master Doc/Master Pistoleer.

I love the defenses to stun, knockdown, dizzy, etc. Most of the specials are pretty lame, but stopping shot, healthshot2, and pistolmeleedefense1 are all great and useful. I know the damage overall is way less than a TKA. However, its really nice to be able to help out, and have a decent medium range shot. If someone is close range, a rifleman has problems, and long range, a TKA can't hit you. Pistols is right in the middle. I get a couple really good DX2's, have them sliced, and then usually throw a powerup on them. In a PVP battle for a base, I'm more concerned with res/heals. But, I do take my pockshots. And, its always a hoot when I knock someone down. I do quite well solo, and have done most of the themeparks/poi's. Yes, there are creatures I don't do well with. But, I'm always buffed with the best I can do, vasarian brandy twice, have a muon gold always on the hotbat in emergencies, and being a zabrak I can use vitalize for another small 50point buff, and then if I'm really getting my butt kicked, I'll do /equilibrium after a heal all the way...it refills all my bars, then make a survey whether or not to burst run outta there.

And with the devs talking about dual weilding, that will be even cooler.

But, just choose something and go with it. Adapt to your weaknesses/strengths. I do well. Both in Pvp, in support, and solo hunting.

Really... it all depends on how you play, and what you do. If you pvp all the time in big battles melee is a no no, if you solo a lot it's the way to go. I hate pistoleer in pvp personally because we can't do anything against someone who is buffed, but with the combat revamp it may change... but for killing NPCs it rocks.
