Thread: Make Medical Centers like ID tents!

I can see it now, I head over to the Coronet Medical Center and see a LONG line formed around the building and an announcement over the PA system calling out the next number for a buff/heal/treatment

You have to visit a terminal outside the Medical Center and click on it to get a number and when the number is called then it's your turn to see a doctor hahaha, that would be neat to see. When I first started out in doctor almost a year ago I think I sat in the Mos Eisley Medical Center for about a month before I started to see a decline in people visiting it. Was a shame because I sat in thereforhours each day waiting for people to come in and get healed, and while I waited I justhand crafting stim/wound packs for medical crafting xp hehehe. No such thing as ABEC grindback then

I like the idea.

I run a medical center in my player city and the only people I see are my guildmates. It would be nice toactually have people make special visits. It will never happen as long as joe schmoe is buffing right outside the starport.

Sometimes when the Devs give you a gift it is best justto take it.

They gave Docs a gift of having the Droid be the most powerful med tool in the game which allows Docs to go anywhere. Take the gift and be happy. If you want to sit in a med center then by all means do so. If you pull out your droid then walk intoa med center it will still work just as well.

Please don't drag all of us into your med center. Some of us docs like freedom.

Most docs like going to where the patient is rather than having to force the patient to come to us.

IMO we do not need any bulky exchange window to do buffs. Now that the bank tip scam is fixed there are few issues with the process.

Removing the timers in a med center and upping the med center to a 110 or 115 rating seem like great ideas.

Nerfing bots seems to me to be a bit overkill...personally if the med center got rid of the timer I would always buff there. No timer = more customers in shorter time = more money...

Nerfing is never a good idea unless it effects the balance of the game...doctors being able to buff outside the med center hurts nobody.

Couldn't agree more, the way to go is to give medcenters an advantage, not to nerf droids. Look at it this way:

If med centres are 115, people will work out of them for good money, but 110 med droids will still give the customer a choice of picking up up quick yet still useful buffs in outposts or starports as and when they need them. That way people can get convienient decent buffs (say for PvE), and slightly better buffs at med centers for PvP.

I agree with Marrow1. I hate staying in one place too long. My droid is my friend

this is a moot point with the combat balance so very close, it's impossible to tell how swg life will be after it, so such a sweeping change as those in this thread would be too much work for nothing

how many people actually hop on a shuttle and go to the other 3 cities to buff? the problem is demand, doctors are in coronet cos there's a demand for it so they're jus supplying the 'thirst' and being a doctor now, food are expensive. one shot last around 15mins, of course we want to 'maximise'the usage of the bivoli. sitting there after one buff & a shot of bivoli and waiting for another 5mins (if we're lucky) for anotehr customer is not funny. hehee

i say remove 110 Med droids. Make droids not usable for buffing and have all buffing take place in a med center (or equiv player hospital / house).

If you make droids max of 75% ..houses 85% and med centers 100% .. you will find people NEED stronger Stims to use in the field.. (@ 75%) and Drs will become all kinds of useful. Still function fine in combat. Remove tumbling (or anything that uses Str/Act) from the med center.. amke it the best place to get buff's.. and you'll find it FULL of experienced Dr's and PC's.

Along with this .. I'd like to see buffs done in camps as well. It would bring a use for them back to the game. At this points they're useless.

Just a thought.

that would make the med centre extremely crowded and laggy... coronet = coroLAG as it is... see the buffing line? yikes, i cant imagine... brrrr

Well, maybe people (docs and customers alike) would use the other cities more? Corellia has four star ports, you know, and one year ago when the game started, all med centers in all cities were staffed almost 100% of the time. If people knew the lines in Kor Vella were shorter...maybe Kor Vella wouldn't be as deserted as it is now?

Oh well, those were the days when Doctors were no simple buff-bots. When solo groups weren't invented yet, and people were asking if there were any docs/medics who wanted to join their hunting groups. <sigh>

Another good point. Don't M-ranger camps cap out at .75 healing percentage? I may be wrong but I'm almost positive it's significantly lower than the med center. I agree with you Darghan that it's silly that you have a fully stocked camp and yet you can't operate as effectively as when you have a droid out in the middle of nowhere.

I have always wondered why a droid could heal more than when in a med center. Think of it this way....when you get picked up by an ambulance are they gonna be as effective working on you than in the hospital? Most likely not.

I always thought the med centers should get a bonus and the droids be the standard. Or, medcenter + droid equals a bonus, but one without the other just a standard 100.

Register just makes it so on the planet map there is a little logo next to the med centre to indicate there is a doc in the centre.

'cept it's "broken" for player hospitals -- all of them show there's a doc on duty all the time
