This entire thread has gotten stupid as well as the agrument. If you don't like you droids being stolen away you got a few options...

1) as long as recursive macros are still in game just loop a /tellpet stay command

2) add /stays to your buffing macro

3) don't buff people

4) keep whining and hope the devs fix something

5) TRUST IN IOO* to bring this to the ATTENTION of the Devs. B/c I'm PRETTEH DANG sure he and the Devs know bout it. *If you don't know who Ioo is then you shouldn't be on this forum... stop trolling

6)just shut up and quit being a doctor.. b/c rehashing the same crap gets us to option 4

Flame me all you want, but these are the options. Me i'm gonna choose Option 5 ... and maybe Option 1 when i do public buffing (if ever)

I am so tired of reading all the "Boo Hoo docs are abused" post.....sheesh

If you feel so abused, drop doc. Pick up a diff skill...like CM. You can still play with medicine....and you wont have to worry about people whining about being buffed.

In protest of all you whiners...I am taking one day a week and buffing for 3 hours for free in Mos Eisley. I started this yesterday...and it was a big success. I had lots of people talk to me about what I was doing and why. Most of them agreed with me...Not one person was whiney. Several even slipped in tips without me noticing untillI was done.

This is a game...the main idea of a game is to have fun. If being a doc isnt fun...stop being a doc...there are plenty of docs to get buffs from and as you all make points of....you can cover the cost of 1 buff in under 5 mins by doing a janta mission.

I swear...I think some of you just like to whine and want people to feel sorry for you. Grow up and start having fun dangit...

hmmm this deserves acounter-counter-protest strike

At least a few people seem to get what I am trying to say. Doc's are far from the "abused red haired step child" that some of you want everyone to think we are. Far from it...we have the skills to go far.

Indeed we do have the skills to go far. But some will still feel more abused than others, and unless you havebeenin their exact situation over and over, there is very little that we can say about it.

This is not about buffing in public...it is about attitude. Frankly, too many docs have a poor one.

Find me a doc with a poor attitude and I'll find you a customer with one. Find me an armorsmith with a..... or find me a chef.... and so on and so forth...Know what I mean? The players behind the doc characters arenormal players just like any other profession. If they weren't the ones getting the grief, they could easily have been the ones giving it. Poor attitude is not the monopoly of certain professions.

But this is the doctor forum and better that docs come here to vent (andall professionswill vent, regardless) to people who understand and have the experience to give useful advice than to do it on the galaxy or tradeforums. In doing so, there will be people who can actually point out useful issues that they should be made aware of.

Docs aren't saints that started playing SWG. We want fun, credits, and a great game experience for our efforts, just like everyone else. Butthere will always be ignorant people and their expectations that we should becontented to just serve the masses"like in the real world". And there will always bedocs needing a place to blow off some steam.A positive thread willfurther your cause more than a rant-like one.

The free buff thing I do is basically for new players(all of the experanced players I gave buffs to today tipped me even tho I told them not to). At Mos Eisley...most of the people there are new...a good half of them didnt understand what a buff was...I spent a good amount of time letting them know what it intailed...that it does cost money...that I am doing it to be nice. I also let them know that this is not the norm...that I am the only one that I know of doing this and it is only one day a week. I also spent a lot of time talking with normal players...and unduing a lot of negative ideas people have about docs... A lot of people think Docs are rich beyond belief. They mostly think we make our buffpacks and they are really cheap to make.(one person thought it cost less that 1k to make a buffpack of 875+ ql)...When I told them what it cost in terms of time and resources...most of them had a better understanding of what docs go thru to get good buffs. All the clothes....food....skilltapes...etc etc needed to make a really good buff... and honestly as far as I have seen...not every doc has the patience to go thru all that(I dont) I would rather just buy them.

/cheer x3. Education is the bestsolution to doc-griefing kids who are probably just too ignorant to know better. It takes time and real effort than most people are willing to give. Glad that you took the time to educate.Because simplygiving free buffs/equipment away will end up hurting more new players than helping them.

I think more effort needs to be put into letting other players know that docs dont just sit back and rake in the creds...there is work involved. Right now....customers have a bad attitude....docs have a bad attitude....it is a cycle that needs to be stopped. A no buff strike wont solve anything but get the non doc players more upset and misinformed. All they will think is that docs are greedy and just want more creds for the buffs. This is perpetuated by the docs that let people cut in line for 30-50k. I was in a line with an alt char last night...Songbird(hope you dont mind) was the doc...someone offered her 20k+ to cut...she politely informed them that if they cut..they will not be buffed. Nothing gets the non doc players more upset than standing in a line for 10-30 mins just to have some dink offer a ton of creds to cut because they cant wait like everyone else.

Now this seems like amore well-reasoned and sensible response to the issue at hand. To be honest, your first post in this thread was far from clear, and was aswhiney as the attitude that it sought to criticize. Now if this had been the post to start with..... but well, better late than never.

/applaud for people who seek to educate the masses.
