I haven't been buffing in quite a while, and don't remember this happeneing to me, but its bloody ridiculous. People need buffs, why can't others just leave well enough alone?

Any one can use the /summon command. It's not jedi doing this alough they might be doing it also. Follow and stay are not a fix for this issue, I have used both and my droid still has gotten pulled.

Hehe wanna hear about the best droid theft ever? Unbuffed jedi in coronet starport, waiting in buff line. I turn to my friend and say, "You know what to do." As I head for the terminal to snag the mission, he heads for the medical droid. He has a great time stealing the droid and drowning it out in the river, while I grab the mission and head back to the starport. Soon, the doc realizes what is wrong and recalls his droid, not noticing the other, smaller droid at his feet. As he begins buffing the jedi, BOOM!!! Dead jedi. Dead doctor. Dead droid. The end. =D

This crap has got to stop. I have posted this in different forums, I have gotten locked threads and a standard response that the devs are aware of this issue and are working on it. That means it might be fixed sometime next year. Mabey.

Creature Handlers have had to deal with this crap for a long time as well, though it's not nearly as bad for them as it is for Doctors and 20+ people in line.

It's nice being able to /pet your pet and have it sit or lie down. It's fun being able to /pointat your pet and have them perk up and look around. It wasutterly stupid to have /summon and /beckon added to the game to make pets follow the person who uses them, when the person who OWNS the pet ALWAYS has a follow command already, and the person using /summon or /beckon is 99% of the time a complete stranger who has absolutely no right to command my pet in any way whatsoever!!! These exploiting a-holes use this bug for the sole purpose of griefing other players!!! I was standing in Coronet the other night, with two pets called, and they were standing right next to me. I had several idiots come out of nowhere and make a bee-line straight for my pets so they could start spamming the /summon command; half the time you can tell when they do it, because they make a "come here" motion with their hand. Issuing the "Stay" command does nothing to prevent this.

The Devs are aware of this issue and are addressing it? They can say that all they want; until this is fixed in-game, that statement is complete and utter BS. How hard can it be to disable TWO commands? They don't even have to remove the code from the game; simply edit a file, flip a switch, and make /summon and /beckon disabled. What is the problem here? Why has this BUG/GRIEF/EXPLOITbeen left in the game for months now, when it obviously causes serious problems in the game? This grief affects every Doctor who buffs in public, it affects every player who receives buffs in public, and it affects every Creature Handler who has creatures out while they are in town. Just between the Doctors and the people getting buffed, you have at least 50% of the player population being affected by this grief. Why is this fix taking so long?!?

/agree 100%

Nice to see a strong response to this thread. Ignoring this problem isnot making it go away...

It took the devs all of what, 1 day to remove /citywarn because of the griefing, but they cant do anything about /summon.

Come on devs flip the switch already and fix this thing.

THE BEST SOLUTION: buy a new Mouse droid with 110 med capability, next equip a robe, i perfer doc dress, then sit down right over your droid. They cant target it, unless you overt of course, so sit back and buff worked great for me!

It started out a CH issue so it was at the lowest priority
Now that it is effecting more professions us lowly CH's were told it will be fixed after patch 10

Untill then all I can tell you is suck it up there is no fix for this grief, short of refusing to buff or musicians entertain (that would make the devs fix it fast).

Good idea, just blows that we have to resort to that in order to not be pestered. I wonder what rationalization there is to allow someone else to control the movement of a character's droid, pet, whatever.

That might have something to do with a CSR getting griefed with Citywarn.. saw a rather funny screenshot of an incapped CSR saying that whoever had /citywarned him had better undo it ...

Good idea about the mouse droid, I wonder if you could get smuggler and use a bomb droid on them. Probably wouldn't work on droid stealer but if you could duel with someone and detonate it. Man, I would love to see the look on the guys face LOL. Imagine, the guys steals like four or five droid not knowingthat they are armed and fully operational bomb droids. Sure it might be a bit costly at first but once the word got out I think these guys would stop. Only think is I don't know if it would work or not with him not being targeted.Ahtis but a dream, but what a funny dream.

Go CSR's!!!

There has been somewhat of a resolution to the incident that prompted me to start this thread. The person responsible has been suspended for 10 days (found this out from one of his guildmates, not the CSR).

I applaud the CSR's for taking action in this case, but its still only a short term fix for one individual. A little longer term one might be an announcement in the patch notes or emailwarning that this is a suspentionable exploit and of course, taking it out of the game would be ideal.

So you guys know, people WILL get suspended for doing this if enough players /report them, so make sure to send them in when you see someone doing it, whether its to you or your fellow docs.
