An alternative to Mind heal is Mind dmg absorber or Mind Shield buff of some type(first they got to get buffs working right though ). This would keep docs from being able to stay propetually alive as some of ya put it. I guess another way they could do it is have it drain alot of action/health, but I don't really see this as a solution since it would be hard to balance right. If they gave it to Entertainers then they would most likely have to depend on another profession for it's heal packs, which could be a good thing; but Entertainers in general seem to have problems like docs when it comes to the money department(don't know if they would want the burden).

I would be the Mikal Nightshade from the screenshot. IMHO the problem is with mind shots. Because I, nor can any other profession, heal mind in the battlefield, it makes mind shots the ultimate weapon. I believe that this should be classified as an exploit, especially in PVP. There is simply no way to balance it out.

I do not believe that doctors should be able to heal indefinitely, but there has to be some sort of way out of this.

Why should anybody attack the health or action pools? Those can be replenished very easily by doctors such as myself. The only pool that is always vulnerable is the mind. An exploit is something that is so persuasive that everyone will move toward using it to the exclusion of all other strategies, usually rendering a game a simple race to see who can use the exploit the fastest. Attacking the mind pool is one of those exploits. Forget Body Shot, Kip Up Shot, or any of the other attacks. Mind shot depletes something that cannot be replenished and it is just as effective at knocking someone out as the others.

I believe that the suggestion that mind wounds should not lead to being incapped would be the correct way to go. This would not eliminate the effectiveness of the mind shot, the mind shot would be used very effectively to decrease the ability of healers and others to perform their combat actions. Running around with no mind left would render my healing ability meaningless and limit the actions that fighters can perform. Using Mind Shot would still be an effective strategy. This change, however, would take away its exploit.

exactly night and here is the BOTTOM LINE to ur profession...

Every person that chose doctor has their own reasons to be a doctor. But there is one reason every single one of you have in common just like our real life doctors.

ITS TO SAVE LIVES

and in this game the way it is, you cant. You shouldnt even be called doctors. Doctors save lives, swg doctors get laughed at. Your worthless in PvP and almost as worthless in combat, which to me really really sucks.

Till they let us heal mind, or mind doesnt incap, or something else they can think of to balance mind shots, doctors are as useful as an entertainer. Someone to camp in town and heal ALREADY DEAD peoples wounds.

I completely agree that something needs to be done seriously about mind damage. I play a Doctor, and group regularly with 2 creature Handlers and a Teras Kasi.We are forced to make the pets tank and the TKA watch on any monster that cons white or higher to the groupdue to the fact that a TKA will aggro no matter how long he waits for the pets to put in an ample amount of damage, I see him on the ground at full health and action on a continual basis due to getting incapped from mind. I don't even think Doctor's should be the ones to have to heal mind, give the ability to smugglers with spice stims or entertainers or at least one class in the game to make it viable for melee users to fight mobs, otherwise CH Pets are your only recourse vs. larger mobs.

"Doctors save lives, swg doctors get laughed at."

"...doctors are as useful as an entertainer. Someone to camp in town and heal ALREADY DEAD peoples wounds."

Very healthy dose of over-exaggeration and as a master doctor, I wholeheartedly disagree.

Not helpful in PvP, or at least limited? Yeah, I can agree to that. Not helpful in a group hunt? Wow, your group experiences don't sound as fun as mine

I'm sure most docs that I've met can attest to at least a modest amount of life saving... and I doubt those lives they saved would laugh at their skills.

I like the idea of mind pool zero doesnt necessarily mean incap.

Mind pool of zero should make special moves impossible, limit doctor/creature handler abilities etc.

Doctors might be able to transfer some of their mind pool to their patient (transfer instead of replenish).

No incap on mind pool.

I have spoken.

I've spent a lot of time on Talus and had similar things happen, i.e. Binyare Pirates spawning from nowhere. Sometimes I was with a friend and sometimes I was solo (with a basic probot). I only got mind incapped the first time. After that, I would just charge the rifle users to get inside their effective range where they can't hit squat, put bleed shots on the others, and get the probot on different targets. I've survived / soloed three yellow con pirates that way. The second I realize a rifle using NPC is shooting at me, I charge him and he's basically out of the fight at that point. Note that I was only a Novice Doctor and Pistol Specialist at the time. I just got Novice Pistoleer last night. Last night, me and a CH friend were taking several Maulers at a time on Naboo using similar tactics. I think the Maulers are worse than the Binyares by a very large margin.

The point is that it slightly different tactics might have worked inyour case. That said, I do think that "something" needs to be done about mind damage. Too much damage can be done to an incap/death stat that can't be healed. I don't know if doctors are the proper class or not. I can see arguments for and against it. But something must be done so that mind damage can be healed.

On another note, congrats on getting Intermediate Pistol Tactics in that fight.

I Do agree on a few posts here , Mind shots are way overpowered for the simple reason that there's no way of healing mind atm. Ive seen mind shots of 3k damage... Even myself at Master Pistoleer the max i can get is 1.5k damage and that if im lucky , which is bout 10% (1 on 10 SS shots) considering also the fact that pistoleers hit random pools mostly. It is somehow unbalanced ona first look that a mind shot would do 3k damage and on another hand even at 3k damage it would be an insta kill so were not even talking bout mind healing here. IMO mind heals should be performed only by masters as a special skill with a respectable delay refresh timer (that would not take any pools)

I think before talking about mind healing itself , we should look towards the main problem which is Classes related to mind damage aka Mind shot, Eye shot etc... Those IMO are the ones which causes some imbalance in a way. Sorry for BH's , Rifflemen, i don't wish in any sence that you get nerfed no, but that there would be a certain balance in it.
