Thread: Doctor Exploit List (Discussion) 11/04/2003
I am not sure if people should get XP for buffing pets either, but am not sure it should be totally done away with. I do fied work, and tend to buff players, and Pets, as to keep us alive better. I know that some people will exploit the pet buffing, but if we try, we can exploit just about anything. I know someone who had a commando burn his graul completely, and then store to remove the flame, then bring it back out and just heal it. IT may be a cheap way to get xp, but if they are using the buffs on pets repeatedly like that, it has to get expensive.
p.s. Ninja buffers, bad. Nija Healers, good
<---Ninja healer
What about the tumble healing XP exploit? One person starts a /tumbletoprone macro and goes AFK, while the person needing medical XP just heals them (potentially also on a macro). Ioften run pastmedics, doctors and CMs levelling up this way.
Tumble-macro healing.... that's a tough one and I'm not sure there is any kind of easy coding solution for it. Tumbling needs to cost somethjing because it provides a defensive benefit. Healing damage is a given. But healing damage also costs pack usage. At least in this instance it requires two people (or at least 2 accounts) and enough packs to do all that healing. It's also pretty slow as a method of gaining XP. (Heck, buffing pets or Ressing in cloning centers is MUCH faster than tumble healing.) Not to mention one could always do the same kind of healing on any dancer in a cantina.
Now some folks may not like the way people set up AFK-macroing, but trying to prevent ever instance of that would either require the removal of the macro system (which would just be a hindrance to everyone and not really prevent the AFKers since they'll just use external macro programs to do the same thing) or they'd have to remove our ability to get any XP from most healing actions, and that would be a major nerf that most of us probably would not agree with. I think the exploits they primarily want to stop deal with being able to gain XP solo (which was easily done with pet damage, but is not so easily accomplished with pet wounding.)
Now we have been requiesting a fix to at least get some XP back out of pet healing, at least for healing other people's pets if nothing else, because once again you at least need 2 people to accomplish it and it seems to me that cooperative "grinding" isn't nrealy as heavily frowned upon.
In all I think we need to be fairly realistic when it comes to listing exploits to those things that are more viable as exploits for removal and that won't seriously hinder our abilities as healers in normal situations. I'm just not too sure that many of the "exploits" listed here as possible additions really fall under those conditions.
You know i realy dont CARE about people getting a little EXP points the easy way .... and i honestly dont know WHY these would be concitred an exploit ... REZing someone in clonint or healing a diseased pet over and over is STILL work and takes supplies and you gain exp ....
ever noticce that REAL docs gain exp by havign a friend break the leg of a health animal then doing surgury over and over again ?
how is that differant than having a firend combat medic poision your pet and then you cure it ? .... by the way if you can cure poision your almost a master anyways ..... this whole "FIX THE EXP EXPLOITS" thing seems totaly a wast of time
PLEASE FIX THE BROKEN STUFF FIRST no one realy cares about these exp gaining things ... mastering DOC takes no time i sat in AH med can ground master medic and master doc in a single day Whoopie doo.... absolutly no problem at all ... just took alot of meds .... so if someone shoots there friend and heals him over and over ... So friking what ... hes still getting EXP by healing. ... its no diferent than me asking a few entertainers to do tons of florishes so i can heal them over and over again for exp.... Think about stuff before you wast all out time "Corosponding " on issues that help NO ONE
PLEASE FIX THE BROKE STUFF LIKE BUGS WITH BUFFS !
Actually I agree, but we were asked specifically to create a seperate category for Exploits and folks have brought these ups, so I've put them in. THankfully the list is pretty darned small, and with the billions of other ways to get healing XP, I think it only appropriate to stick to the big XP methods when solo since those seem to be the things the Devs look at primarily as "exploit" methods. Which is why I'd rather stick wtih just the 2 we have so far.
But we were asked, at any rate, so it's there. I do really, really, really hope that the Devs are smart enough to recogjnize that the importance of these particular "exploits" is virtually non-existant compared to the stuff on the Bugs and Gameplay lists.
lol I have Never heard of Ninja Buffing...I guess I am sometimes a ninja Buffer then when i am trying to use up bad enhance packs. Although I do not leave the med center to do it. I think enhances should be able to be gone over though. So If I don't like my 480 healthbuff with D's i can try again
Healing your own pets wounds...IDK I mean if you have to have a friend to wound the critter in teh first place, what stops you from having them wound thier own critter, having it befreind you and healing it?
You could also make it so that we cannot heal pets at all, and that would put some BE products in demand, but what about those that buy the stim B's we sell that they use to heal thier pets. I relied exclusivly on selling stim B's to afford all the resources it took to get my Doctor crafting to lvl 4.I don't see how anyoneelse could do it without being a terminal whore and doing combat missions all the time.
Fact: Master Doc crafts crates of stim c's for decent heal rate.
Fact: Armored players lose ham faster.
Fact: You can heal a tumbling player with a macro, use less than 100 stim c's and be DONE with ALL of the healing xp required for Doc in under 5 hours.
Name 1 other proffesion where you can fill 3 ladders in 5 hours.

Medic and Combat Medic
You can actually master Medic in about 4 hours with the exception of app xp. Pretty funny that its the most difficult starting profession to get started with, but the easiest to master once you've done it once.
Truer words were never spoken.
