Also...some people say not to worry because there is no information that SOE have released on an upcoming buff nerf so there probably won't be one, BUT...I haven't heard a Dev say that there isn't going to be one, so its very likely there will be and to get people hunting in groups like the old days

That's because there willcertainly be changes. Changes that will effect the Doc prof (as well as all the other profs) in some way. That doesn't necessary equals a "nerf" though. No need to panic.

And don't get me wrong ... I'm all in favor of panic, once we have a factual reason for it. But hopefully we won't.

But...the main qquestion is...will doctors who have spent millions on buying resources lose out on this?

Ihighly doubt it.

Only way for this to happen would be if the decided to make buffs TOTALLY useless. And I don't see that happening.

Yes but...people who are NOT doctors will see them as very useless compared to what they are now, also they might go on to say I won't pay that much for this when that was far better and at the same price...you know what I mean

Uh ... the real question here would be: Will they?

The CU will affect ALL profs. It will affect how the game is played. It's just pointless to try to foresee what will happen at this point. Plus, it will take forever for it to hit the live servers! And even then, it's like someone else said here... before it does, we will already have alot more concrete info on it to make up your minds if we like or not.

So till then, just use your resources, continue to craft and have fun wth the prof! Not much else left to do, anyways.

Seriously, relax people. There's 5 Doctors who are representing you in the CURB, I doubt they're going to sit quietly by IF anything gets NERF'ed without good reason.

That much you can count on.

Don't forget, some of us are MCM/MDs. So you've got some CMs and some Medics looking out for the Docs too

Realistically the medical community has some of the largest representation in the alpha so we have a lot of people keeping an eye on things for us.

Trust me they will not be useless. I don't know specifics yet, but I have been assured that there will still be plenty of demand for buffs.

I agree with the original poster. People need to be quiet, since they don't have the facts.

ACTUALLY,

Buff nerf is too specific. CB is going to be a game killing combat/armor/buff/food NUCLEARNERF the likes of which have never been seen. If I were smart I'd buy stock is CLONING CENTERS and CANCEL ACCOUNT buttons.

Well I'm not quitting, but hey, before you jump ship, be sure to give me your stuff. Since you have already made up your mind what the CU is about.

Interesting that you're totally against this Combat Balance Upgrade when nearly no specific information about it has been released. The new armor system seems to have been received very well by everyone, though questions on how it will fit with everything else have quickly been asked, as expected. The CU will make the combat in the game much different we are told, so we can expect that. But that doesn't mean it's going to "kill" combat. If you're heard that somewhere, it is only a rumor or misinformation.

As has been said several times now, don't panic. There will be plenty of time for that (and for action) if it is needed before the CU goes live. And those representing the medical professions won't stay quiet if there is any reason for us to speak up.

What if there is a Buff nerf coming up and SOE limit all buffs to 1000 when buffing instead of normally being from 2000-2600+?
Yes alot of people who have spent millions on resources would lose out, I think everyone has a right to be worried because there certainly is a buff nerf on the way

Well, like I said no one knows, but look at your own speculation. If that were the case who would still not want buffs? I sure would want them. Differnece from 1000 health to 2000 with buff in your scenario is still better than 1000 without.

No one knows how buffs will change but the devs themselves, and you can bet many of us will be keeping a close eye on things when it goes into testing

You know, the pessimists can say "buff nerf", but, let's say they change the buffs. I see it as an opportunity for Doctors and all medical personnel to play a bigger role. But, I'm an optimist.

I have 5million units of doc ressources.. It is alot of money we are talking about if the existing buffs will stay after the cu.. then I will lose ALOT of money..

No you wont. Existing buffs will quickly be used up if they stay the same power. However I suspect a reduction in bufff power will be done at the point that the buff is applied by modifying the appropriate formula.

Now lets make a Blind totally unsupported assumption and say that the CU consists SOLELY of a "Buff Nerf" and buffs are reduced to 25% of their original power.

This would make doc buffs even more of a necessity simply to get armour on and provide that extra bit of protection.

You wont lose any money on resources you have harvested yourself because, lets face it, they cost next to nothing to extract, except meats which often cost a few buffs and some time.

However I strongly suspect that regardless of whatever happens doc buffs will remain a necessity for high end pve, pvp and simple grindind and thus your resources will retain their value for the most part.

Imagine what would happen now if there was a 4 week glut of OQ1000 PE 1000 DR 1000 avian on say, naboo where its easy to get.. THAT woudl do you far more damage than any CU.. but then would it ? because youd be in there getting as much of it as possible while its good. And if you pay 300 cpu for it then you have only yourself to blame. DOCS set the price of avian not the people who collect it.. they only charge the earth because we are willing to pay it.

Yes the scenario I gave there is highly unlikely but I was only making a point. And besides theres an outside chance it could happen.

Please stop worrying. Youre are scaremongering and only scaring yourself. Theres no way we can predict whats going to happen nor is there anything we can do about it. But if all goes well the rebalance will be exactly what it is intended to be and the whole crafting combat experience will be richened.
