Are people truly this slow? Fine, buffs get nerfed - will that mean people will stop wanting buffs? Ummm... no.


If the goal is to make players group more, then buffs will be required more than ever.


I don't understand why people think buffs will be less needed after the nerf. If anything, the exact opposite will happen.


Now JTL ... THAT will nerf demand for buffs because they won't be needed in space.

although every point in this thread so far may be true. buffs are in the game to help people. sure, it might get everyone to group more. but every single combat prof will suffer from having buffs nerf'd, especially in pvp. bleeds that can stack like mad. poisons/diseases that drop your health, action, or mind by a few hundred every second. you could get your pubic hair clipped and die from it.


i hear alot about how so many things are possible to solo with buffs and the right profs, and its true. but as long as storm troopers on the vette shoot for 6k damage every so often, and tuskan observers shoot for 12k damage every so often. i wouldnt support a nerf of buffs.


(and i'm not joking about the 12k shot. a jedi friend of mine blocked that 12k shot while he was running away.)


oh yeah.. dont forget the encumbrance values of armor, and attack costs of most common weapons. with out those god forsaken buffs you speak of, you can shoot once, and better hope that your target isnt close to you, otherwise 1 whap and you're 12/700 health is gone and you're cloning.

1- they arent 'nerfing' buffs, the buffs are going to be altered to be able to be effective in the new combat system


2-the new combat system will not have mobs hitting that hard or with that much HAM, dont get me wrong, they will probably be extreamly hard but EVERYTHING is getting over hauled in the new system.


3-Encumbrance is going to matter very very little in the new system. Your specials you spam will no longer take HAM costs, you will be having a separate bar for specials, that way you cant spam them and as for that matter the encumbrance costs of the armors, armor effective ness and the damage/speed of weapons are all being over hauled too.


Its being done to BALANCE the system and no matter how 'nerfed' buffs get, they will still be VERY relevent and people will still be EAGER to buy them, coz no one wants to walk around with less than what they COULD be with a buff.



Dont worry about something you havent seen yet, it's kinda like dieing, im not gonna 'guess' what its like, but ill tell ya what i see when i get there :0)
