Interesting viewpoints!
I run things like I would a RL business. I figure out what it costs in supplies, put a value on the time it takes to buff someone and add a mark up and Voila! You get a selling price. When I do this, I know for certain what my break points are and thus are able to decide if it is mission time, hunting time or buff time.
Usually, I find somewhere where there aren't any docs and start the spam macro. I give it some time and see if I am getting any hits. No hits...move to another spot.
I just think it is interesting to see the whole thing work. It almost lives and breathes on its own. I expect that the cost for the buff packs will increase and then raise the buffing prices. Then, the demand will drop...
There is another name for this:
SUPPLY AND DEMAND!
I just wondered if others are seeing the same impact on their servers?

resist buffs only last about 45min and you need someone to apply them still, I think more people will be going doc as the mobs are getting tougher with specials working for them now, my buddy used to love soloing night sisters, now he begs me to go with him!

I just got master doc but not to buff the public just to buff, heal, and cure etc. myself. I make way more money just hunting and whatnot then sitting in town bored out of my gore buffing people all day

Okay a few SS people have responded...
Buffing prices have gone up imo for two reason: 1) supply has diminished. Doctors supplying buffs to the buffers have gone down. I think I'm the only one to fully pull out of the market, but several have been slacking on producing buffs. 2) demand has been huge. People whine and complain that "I don't like how buffing system works and you gotta get buffed", but guess what they are lining up just like everyone. You can stand around Cnet in the morning/afternoon and people are calling out for doctors.
So we got a bottleneck
Also don't cartel to control prices... because its stupid. How are you gonna control someone who breaks from the cartel? Price controlling will fall apart in the SWG market, so don't waste the effort controlling prices. A good idea is just to start discussions with other docs and see what they think and I'm pretty sure everyone will agree to something reasonable.

Of course then we have those that start.
Although I'm not decided how many buffpacks I will produce. I guess it depends on the availability of good resources. As a doctor I'm somewhat tired of makign good money selling buff packs only to spend it all on new or old resources needed to make even more. But then again, that's part of the game. I think I will enjoy doc more this time than last (when I dropped it) since, frankly, I know that it's a game and so what if the buff packs are one week late?
Word of advice: it's a game. Don't let yourself get so involved in your crafting that the game stops being fun. If people demand you stock your vendor or finish their 50x6 pack order (together with the other 150x6 backordered packs), don't let it get to you.
With that... glad to be back although DANG are the resources expensive. 100 cpu for herb meat makes for some expensive stims (which is why I'm not making stims atm).

Well, there are new master docs coming out every day and it seems that they are allstationed atthe starports and cantinas.
Anyone a little worried about the market crashing? I've noticed that the Buff price on Bria has been drifting down. Used to be 15k...then 12k...now 10k?
Anyone seeing the same? Time to start up a Doc Union? LOL.

I doubt a doc union, or any kind of union to set prices, would work. You'll always get the few that won't adhere to whatever has been set. Besides, it's free enterprise - supply and demand should determine the rates.
As far as trends, I've noticed prices going up instead of down on my server and the buff lines getting longer.

If there are more and more doc buffing then you may want to get into the crafting aspect. If the demand for buff packs rises, then the price per pack should rise too. You could stand to make a killing.
