they dumbed down crafting because they didn't want to spend the time making it better and turning the game into a bashing monsters games which sucks.

overwhelmingly negative.....a year's worth of resources useless, millions in med exp. tapes useless, vendor full of buffsuseless.

thats a definate negative......
docs are nothing but generic now. from what ive seen on test...i dont like it.

- Played doc since beginning spent a lot of milions in resources and tapes - now a lot of them totally useless
- Probably I'll not heal anyone in combat cause I don't want all the mobs aggroing me (heling is like attacking the enemy of the healed people - this sucks)
- The doc profession is now pretty oriented to combat but the doc IS NOT A COMBATTANT (I would really like to see a doc killing without having other combat skills)
- I don't want to exp doc to cure and BE to craft
- The crafting part will be really insane after CU - insane in the resources amount required, insane in the kind of resources required insane because I ALSO HAVE TO MASTER A PROFESSION THAT I DON'T REALLY CARE (the BE prof)
My vote: TOTALLY NEGATIVE

I have a masterdoc/master swordswoman who was not a c-net buff bot
i took great pride in crafting high quality buffs for my self and guildmates
i also enjoyed krayt hunts and dungeon crawls keeping guildees healed up
i have millions of $ worth of high quailty resouces which now i find out will be worthless as they changed the stats needed from oq/pe to oq/ut
so even if i desired to get a BE line to craft all my resources are gonna be crap
all this fills me with such overwhelming joy i can hardly contain myself

I have been a master doc for a year and a half, with the CU,I am not planing on playing a doc again. It comes down to these things for me:
1. I can't craft my own stims without dropping the combat profession I also enjoy.
2.Even if I did become a master doc and master be, the materials required for the new medical packs are going to be impossible for me to collect.
3. The slight enhances of the buffs are not worth the skill points used to be able to apply them.

1. Despite being a "Greedy Republican Haliburton Inspired Doctor" I never had more than 900K in my pocket when I was buffing for the general public, it was not until I went TKM in addition did I start to earn a LOT more credits. It really surprised me that Doctors who healed wounds, damage, revived people, cured disease, healed poison's etc were so despised for supposedly being the "Judas" of SWG. But after reading the Armorsmith forums I realize that posts there too demonize the AS profession as being "greedy" as well, so any I suspect the same types of people will attack for the same reasons(class envy in real life anyone?) Point being, my SATISFACTION from working my trade derives from helping people, and it was my favorite thing about the Doctor profession, not making the BILLIONS AND BILLIONS of ILL GOTTEN credits that we Doctors supposedly were STEALING from the poor UBER combat types.
2. The crafting part of Doctor and collection of all the materials needed added an intellectual aspect to the game that I had never really experienced in other computer games. Each new respawn of materials always brought about excitement as you could strive to make better materials, like stimpacks that approached 1000, or how many charges you could squeeze out of your rez packs this time.
3. Most of my greatest friendships in this game evolved from people whom I met because they needed a buff, and we would strike up a conversation at some odd location in the game, even when I stopped buffing for the public, I would still sometimes buff someone who was polite and/or may have just struck the right chord with me for whatever reason.
4. Change when things are broken is good, change for the sake of change can be very bad.
5. I agree with a earlier post, I am much more like McCoy than Merlin, you should not be able to heal without medial supplies.
6. Having been here for almost a year and a half, I will try out this new system for a while, and see how well it works. Having survived previous nerfs, while not this drastic, in the past adaptation came with time. But I am not a "Kool Aide" drinker either, if after a month or two this game is not fun, then I will cancel my account and be done with it. Many people in this world are so eager to sniff fharts and tell everyone else they smell like roses, then act offended that some one else would be so bold as to say "I do not agree, that smells like sh|t to me!"
Better stop while I am ahead, suffice to say, I am a sand panda.
P.S. To any of the flamer posters who want to say "You must not be much of a Doc then" (in regards to money) then I say anyone who has taken me to the vette, Night Sister POI'S, Phase III&IV missions, etc might not agree with you. A Doctor is not judged by his bank account, but by those he has helped in their times of need.

I vote negative. There is nothing to seperate my brand of packs and heals from yours. just generic "magic" heals... Its just all so silly. They are also leaving multitudes of docters with tons of buff packs thay have paid for or made, bought resourses for ect.. and no way now to get that money back. We will see the total package when it goes live, but im not going to be king in my apraisal... If I dont like it, im gone.

I have a master Doctor character alt pure support character which will be useless now due to the short term buffs ect
Doc has no buisness at all in bio engineer if anything they should have made a brand new profession .....Pharmacist
to handle doc and CM and bio engineer medical crafting ....thismakes the bio engineer profession cheep
There is no need to totally rewrite all the lingo so Docs have NO IDEA what the F there now doing in the own profession without relearning there profession from scratch it also looks childish compared to what we currently have.....bacta toss..LOL what a sick joke
Docs are now a combat profession without combat skills in there tree to speak of the weak melee and ranged defense is pitiful at best.....no special moves no special weapon to help balence this either
In real life there is a REASON doctors are in a MASH unit and NOT in the trenches
This massive sweeping change was planned by soe for a year but were docs informed and asked for feed back .....No they ask us to give it our blessing when its clearly too late to change anything worthwhile
I can hear the fighters spamming in spatial chat now ....HEAL HEAL HEAL but the poor Doc is incapped or dead because he/she had no skills to be in a fight in the first place or he/she is fighting for there own life.......
The Doc profession is made tobenifit asolo fighter helping himself not the GROUP this will cause many hard feelings and post CU docs will be mostly resented if they dont spend ALL of there time holding everyones hands
Here is where the whole concept of the new Doc fails....fighters shoot things and there not going to miss a shot to heal another fighter who will out do them if they do fighters want the glory for themselves sure they help each other but not at this level..
Doctors heal people because thats what they do but most want to do it in a clinical setting if not why in the F do we have hospitals and medical facilitys and even faction bases called Medical bases ?......
with the short timer on ALL doctor related skills this isnt possible now in the CU thus the enjoyment factor for most Docs is gone and they wont play
SOE doesnt know the REAL difference between COMBAT medic/pharmacist and Doctor
Combat medic is a fighter that heals not a Bio warfare terrorist
Doctor is a clinical healer that cures modifies and enhances not a combat medic
Pharmacist makes and dispences medicines to combat medics and Doctors

So So So... Negative! I have worked my butt off to become one of the best medical supliers on Lowca server and will not start from scratch again so the new guys start on a lvl playing field. They should have subscribed on day 1 like the rest of us did and worked to earn thier way up to a respected doctor. 4 accounts down the tube just from me alone as things stand right now.
Sure maybe the CU will be fun after we relearn the game over again but I will leave just on principle alone. I would be foolish to bust my tail a second time so they can come along a year from now and wipe it clean again so the new guys can catch up. Heaven forbid you work for something and just don't have it handed to you. Goodbye gang
