they nerfed CM to uselessness


I have a 591 effectiviness mind PSN that might make you change your mind on that one. But, yes, the CM's are not happy either about many of the changes in the CU. With a wave of a hand we will now apply our wares from thin air.

Very negative.

Instead to balance the game and improve the fun to play our professions, they just nerf everything. The Alpha, that is on TC at the moment shows how nervous & desperated SOE must be...

Negative.

I do NOT like the new crafting changes. They are doing TOO much TOO quickly. I anticipated a general shift of the crafting lines and the required components. If I am able to convert some of my existing resources to the newer kinds required, I might understand the rapid movement. I happen to have a large large stock of CM crafting resources, but I haven't seen any quality CM resources in ages on my server... if the devs would open the flood gates with some quality resources, I would, again, reconsider their stance.

The bottom line is: too much, too fast.

You may be missing the point. This thread is not intended to end the CU in any way and never was. I'm simply wanting to know everyone's opinion on it. This is, as it's stated, an opinion POLL, not a petition...


Instead of just voting yes or no, why not tell the devs how to make it better?


There are plenty of threads out there for people to talk about making things better, (and more power to them)...


Its not too late to change things!


The voice of the combat medics were heard when we asked for ranged support instead of pistols. The voice of the AS were heard when they wanted OQ/SR instead of UT. Lets figure out what the doctor community wants and push those ideas forward.

Negative - nearly all of my current doc resources will go to waste


Negative - resources needed to craft meds after CU are even more specific then the current system.


Positive - i have been wanting to quit crafting for a while and the CU seems to be pushing me ahead of schedule.

Negative.

Having run one of the most successful doctor crafting businesses on Intrepid Server (if not THE most successful), the new requirements for crafting meds, including the resources required, is absolutely ludicris. My fellow docs and I have hundreds of millions of credits in current doctor resources, and for SOE to decide to completely throw out the book and make such a massive change just boggles my mind. Yes, it will put everyone on a level playing field. It will literally take weeks if not months to gather good (read not the best) resources to make ANY items, IF one was to respec as a Bio-Engineer. Personally, I retired from crafting a little over a week ago so that our other doc crafters could make a little money prior to the CU hitting. Afterwards, it looks like we are closing shop. This was supposed to be a COMBAT upgrade, and while I can understand, and respect, that changes needed to occur to the current meds/doc system, but at least allow current resource requirements to hold true with the CU. Otherwise, current Doc Crafters will have tons of useless (or mostly useless) resources. Simply put, I am extremely disappointed with the CU thus far on Test Center, and if it goes live without some of these major issues being addressed, I will be hanging up my hat for good.

It also amazes me that the SOE spin-doctors are making it look like everyone is extremely pleased with how the CU is shaping up. While I do agree that the Combat changes are mostly positive, it these other areas that really need work. Please, please SOE, take some more time to tweak the system before releasing such a massive change to the game, or you might find your cancellation rates skyrocket. I think that would be the most disappointing thing of all...

Positive

For one it will stop all the AFK buff bots.

The most important one though it will finally give a more important role to the doctor in combat for those who like to play the traditional role of "Healer" in RPGs.

Negative - I bought a new copy of this game and account and became a doc to craft and buff my friends and myself. Not to be in combat. That's what I thought a what do you call 'em, oh yea, Combat Medic does. The different requirements are too much for me as far as crafting goes so I will be cancelling one of my accounts probably. I spent months and months in the shadows of other docs, finally ammassed some wealth and a crap load of resources and it looks like it's being changed. No one helped me rise up, so I don't see why SOE should help other noobs (or so they say).


Goodbye my Doc alt, I had a great time crafting.



I am an SOE customer, now only if they'd treat me as one...hell, I'd be happy if they treated me like a McDonald's customer.

Except for the noob comment, I agree with you. Docs are gettin the wrong end of the lightsaber on this one.


Add my vote to the CU as aNEGATIVE to this one...


I read a good post as to the definition of CU (Cancel Uninstall) seems fitting.. hopefully not.

My doc has a good role in combat. Area Cures FTW, res ability, not to mention buffs before the event. But besides that, most of our resources will be rendered useless, so the millions upon millions most docs spent are not going to be worth much (why's this seem like buying stock in aol?). There won't be a way to reimburse for this kind of thing. They're killing the one part of this game that wasn't bugged, crafting. Even AS is going to get screwed and become like architect crafting. And without the cures and stims I make now, I don't see a doc/rifleman being able to tank a Krayt/GDK after CU
Either way, at least one of my 3 accounts goes, if not all. It's ridiculous to see the COMBAT revamp completely screw crafters and entertainers. The combat isn't even that broke as it is, just needs some fixes... I'm playing this because I enjoy it. As I've said before, if I wanted to play WoW or EQ, I'd be playing them, I'm here because it's different; This is becoming the same by this CU, which will make me part most likely (I will give it a chance before I make any decisions, they may surprise us, but this seems about as smart as pushing out the initial release of the game before it was ready. The first few months were basically still beta testing times; here it goes again. I do like some of the changes in the combat aspect, but I'm not sure if combat alone will be enough to keep this enjoyable)

Just have to wait to see what goes through, but as it stands, I'm terribly disappointed in the crafting/entertainer aspect (Not just doc crafting). This will have a trickle-down effect to everyone.

Please add Tamin to the list of Negatives.


Doc's with some other combat prof were very effective in combat and nice to have around, either solo or in a group.


If you like the traditional role of "healer" you can be a CM, and also effective in combat to a point


Couple things that really annoy me.

1. shouldnt be able to 'solo' things - why not?? who cares if someone wants to take a templated toon and solo a Kryat? doesn't bother anyone else in the game (doesn't bother me anyways). And good luck if you want to solo an Ancient..I soloed a Canyon once with my TKM/Fencer - took about an hour and waisted a few peices of armor...so what?? Also got a pearl out of it Probably won't do it again, but I just wanted to say that I could..and I did..who cares. Try to solo the DWB, and even if you are able to do some looting there solo, try doing the miners quest or talk to me when you have crafted a jetpack or piece of armor solo - if you believe there is stuff too easy in the game.


2.CM's being an uber unbalanced poison/disease throwing prof that ruined the game...just get a doc or add doc to your template, its called "grouping" and motivation to do so has existed in this game prior to this CU, we certintly didn't need it cramed down our throats.


Some balancing needed to be done, some adjustments needed to be made...and even though I am very negative about the CU, I'm sure I will keep playing and see how it goes (there are some things I do like) However, I DO NOT like this "magic" other mmorpg influenced healing system they have put in place or the removal of the all crafting from Doc's and CM's. Even with the changes they made there was no reason not to keep these items crafted by the Docs and CM's, no reason why they couldn't make their own "inhancers" or stims. At least that would have kept some options open to the players on how they want to play their characters without major reworking of templates. But hey..just my 2 cents.
