Thread: Best Template for Self-Sufficient Doc

I'm trying to develop a template that allows a doctor to be basically pretty much self-sufficient. Currently I'm 0004 atrisan (Surveyor), 0040 Scout (Hunter), and 3224 Doctor. I'm looking to be Master Doctor and with a novice elite combat prof (and prerequisite skills) that leaves me 17 skill points to spend on boxes in whatever combat prof i've chosen. I just don't know which one to choose. This is solely for PvE. I can get to a level 3 box in one branch and level 1 in another. That will leave me with no skill points to spare. Could anyone give me advice? I'm leaning towards TKA but I'm very open to suggestions. Thanks

Master doc/Master swords.

That leaves you enough to rotate between Scout/Artisan points for harvesting/surveying. And the swords will let you kill practically anything you wish PvE and do well in funding your doc expenditures.

More or less anything goes well with Doctor.

I know many that fancy coupling Master Doc with TKM, Swordsman and Rifles.
In regard to which combat profession to choose... do what you enjoy.
Swordsman is really great for PvE, but so is a lot of the other professions.

When it comes to the extra 17 skillpoints... well i would prefer to stick them in scout - either 1xxx or xx1x.

On my master doctor character, she's a tkm and a master doctor the extra points I switch around for training. If i need to do surveying I pick up artistian, if I need to hunt, I pick up scout. etc..

It's not that useful, but it helps!

BUT! I have a master artistian alt that does all the hunting/surveying for me now! hehehe!

Ditto here

But I have to drop scout for the FS enhancements (not going Jedi) but love the +12 melee speed enhancements.

Just cant run up hill anymore.

Step 1 : learn master TKA/Master Doc

Step 2 : learn scout/artisan as needed for res

Step 3 : Buy a second account and learn TKM/Master Artisan/Scout

Enjoy the extra slots for harvies .. hmm lubbly

RIGHT ON!!!!

Two accounts is the only way to really enjoy the game's diversity.

my template is

Master Swordsman

Master Doctor

Master Medic

18 pts leftwhich depending on my needs for the day

Novice Artisan, survey 1 (hunt those annoying doc crafting resources)

or

Novice Scout, hunting 1 (for that avian, herb, domesticated meat and whatever else needed)

bought a +25 Terrain Negotiation lance to tote while hunting or surveying to help on those nasty hills

works well for me. rely on buddies to host my vendors, storage homes, factories and (harvesters when needed)

This is also my template. I basically switch skills between scout and artisan depending on my needs and use Chandad Survey food and the Harvesting food plus harvester droid.

I also use veghash (sp) for the 25% harvesting bonus. I wasn't aware of chandad. Sweet.

Before you Master Swordsman, give 2 4 0 4 swords a try, it is actually very good in PvE. This will also allow you to have 38 points left over with master doctor. Just make sure you use speed sliced weapons.

Thank you everyone for your advice. It is really appreciated . I've got my mind set on making my own buffs (because of the outrageously cheap price I want to buff ppl at on my server). I'll be looking over swordsman and TKA (and other combat profs as well but I'll focus on those). For one general reason I want to keep a non-master combat template, I have no desire to train up hunting or surveying everytime I want to do it . Thanks again.
