Have not seen this posted in any of the "issues threads" so though I would ask here.
I have not buffed anyone with my Doc for a while so I am not sure when this startted (pub 13.0 is my guess though). Well, up until two days ago that is. Since then, I have noticed that I no longer see the buff animation (the nice blue/white light that shows around your buff target) nor do I get the system message telling me I can now buff/mend wounds again. Id do get the message saying what the buff hit for though.
Again, have not heard anyone else say the same so it may be a client side issue or something with only a small amount of people. Just wondering if others have seen this and if it is reported. If not, I will do so.

The person you were buffing must have been the same faction as you. Which basically means you can apply the next buff without waiting for the message, buff as if you were using havla.
I have noticed that opposite faction buffee's still have the 7 sec between each buff stat ... and I'm unsure about neutrals, as I've only buffed 2 dif factioned people since this came in to play.

Well, the person I was buffing is my main account. He is imp. My Doc is a Reb. He is in "on leave" status while my Imp was in "combatant" status. I also buffed two other combatants (both Imp) with the same result. I still find it strange that there is no system message. Also, that does not explain why the animation is missing.
Anyhow, it really is not a big deal as I can still buff.

Somthing similar happened to me, but it fixed itself by the next person that i buffed, it might have been lag, or something to do with factions.

From the little testing that I've done trying to figure out who this does and doesn't work for, it seems that if you can heal them, you can't speed buff them. It'd explain why the rebel doc can speed buff Imps, but not neutrals or other rebels. Also, a neutral doc that I know can't speed buff anyone that's on-leave regardless of faction, but can speed buff everyone else in a faction. Also neither the neutral doc nor myself have never been able to speed buff anyone that's neutral.
This is nothing more then a guess based on what others have experienced in addition to my own experiences though, so it could be something else entirely. It's the only thing left that seems to make sense seeing that a city's faction status seems to play no apparent role in the speed buff bug (tried testing that too).

I was wondering that myself. The speed buffing isn't based on faction, but I haven't quite figured out which ones get the speed buffs, either. Seems to me that it's "on leave" that I can speed buff, regardless of faction, if the lack of a faction symbol next to the name means anything. Anybody that has a factional icon, I can't speed buff. Thing is, I'm rebel, and the last time I buffed, I was Combatant.........but that's what I seemed to see. Other combatants and special forces got regular 7 sec buffs (well, really 6, if you take out the 1 sec taskbar lag), but On Leave of either faction could be speed buffed.
Note on the 6/7 sec thing.......I checked it out, thouroughly, and if you're using your toolbar or a macro, the server is reading it as if you'd typed the command, so there's a 1 sec lag between hitting the button, and the buff actually happening. Seems to depend on where you are, though, I know a couple of docs that don't have quite as much delay time as I do, and a few that have longer delays. The actual buff time, from the time the server accepts the EnhanceWhatever command, to the time the buff actually happens, is 6 secs.

I was able to insta-speed buff my alt with no messages on TC. I haven't tried this on live yet.

I can't speed buff myself, I get the animation and have to wait 7 secs. But the dropping heartanimation is missing when I cure my own states. And I'm the same faction as me..

If you're a LIVE doctor and buff for cash, try these macros. They're working wonders for me:
[Buff-F1]
/say Now buffing %NT;
/healenhance health;
/pause 8;
/healenhance action;
/pause 8;
/healenhance quickness;
/pause 8;
/healenhance stamina;
/pause 8;
/healenhance constitution;
/pause 8;
/healenhance strength;
/pause 1;
/say All finished, %NT. Happy hunting.;
/thank;
[Dump-F2]
/dump;
[SpeedBuff-F3]
/healenhance quickness;
/pause 0.1;
/healenhance stamina;
/pause 0.1;
/healenhance constitution;
/pause 0.1;
/healenhance strength;
/pause 1;
/tt Congratulations. Thanks to something that changed with the last publish update to the game, you are eligible for a speed buff. By the time you finish reading this, your buffs will be done.;
/say All finished, %NT. Happy hunting.;
/thank;
Here's how you use it:
- Line this up on your F1/2/3 hotkeys.
- Hit the F1 (buff) hotkey and watch for the dropping hearts.
- If you see the hearts just let the buff macro run. You should also get the "You are ready to heal more wounds..." message between stats.
- If you don't see the glowy blue hearts dropping, wait until the action enhancement hits. If you don't receive the "You are ready to heal more wounds..." message between health and action, quickly hit the F2 key to dump your buff macro and tap the F3 key to complete the speed buff. You have 8 seconds between action and quickness to hit the dump key. If you don't hit it in time, just let the regular buff macro run its course.
- Make sure you keep the customer targetted so they receive the message at the end of the speed buff.
Hope this helps!
