Hi
What is - under your opinion - the best combat profession to have being a Doctor? Teras Kasi Artist? Fencer? Swordsman?
I am considering a combat profession to make missions in PvE for money. I don't care for PvP ... if i look for a good PvP then i turn to UT2004 or so
Thanks for your time!

Sword/Doc is up there as one of the best PvE templates.
TKM/Doc is fun, definetely, but don't do it if you plan on soloing high level PvE content.
Fencer/Doc - can't say, but supposedly its great to make you survive longer in the field.
Pike/Doc - good if you have DoT lances.
Carbine/Doc - Support your group with a long range state inflicting profession.
Pistol/Doc - Similar to Fencer.
Rifle/Doc - Good, but you mayhave trouble soloing due to lack of a melee profession.

Master Doc / Master Pikeman, with enough Skill Points left for Artisan Survey 1.
I was Master Pistoleer / M Doc, but Pistoleer alone is useless against high level mobs. Picked up M Pikeman about a month ago and I'm never going back. Pikes own PvE, with buffs and a decent set of armor, you can solo some darn high lvl mobs. Pikes can dizzy/stun/blind/bleed and knockdown with area attacks. Also, the Long Vibro Axe is medium armor piercing.

Since you are looking at PvE go Swordsman.
Swordsmen totally own the PvE battlefield...and does very will in PvP if you know what you are doing. The ability to choose Blast or Kinetic damage makes it superior to TKA and Fencers damage output is laughable in comparison to Swordsmen.
Be aware there is a combat rebalancinggoing Livein 3-4 months (hopefully sooner) that will change the balace of power in combat professions. So Swordman may not be king in a few months.

I would have to reccomend Swordsman or TKA
But if you want to take on the real high end of PvE then it has to be Swordsman

Swordsman is it. With all that healing power at your hands, you will solo giant krayts and laugh at how easy it is. If you can manage some SEA's and speed cap your swords speed, a off the shelf Powerhammer will kill a giant krayts very fast. ...Intimidate, scalp slam until the intimidate wears off and do it again. Very simple. I do it with master swords, master rifleman and only medic 0040 with not problem at all. Night sisters in large groups might still give you some greif since they use stun weapons now and are alot more dangerous. If you can pull them 1 at a time, though, they are easy and cheesy.

Because of upcoming Combat Balance (hey don't laugh! it'll happen I tell ya!), it is kinda hard to say which profession is stronger or weaker in terms of "uberness".
But as a healer, there is somethings that don't change no matter what happen.
Lot of doctors go with melee since as melee you have to be right up there with mob, and with other melee who is tanking that mob. And since you have to be fairly close to your patient to heal, it works out fairly good since your number 1 healing target is that tank who is taking all the damage.
Ofcourse on the flip side some doctors go with range since your heal lag something fierce if you are in combat. So as range you can stay far back from mob's agro range so that when you click peace, you immediately disengage from combat and heal.
As with most things, it depends on your playing style as well as who you group with most often. And even that may change when Combat Balance finally get here and healer become lot more crucial in combat both PvP and PvE.

Melee - Swordsman/Doc - Your Damage Output and healing power is phenominal
Ranged - Rifleman/Doc - At Master Rifleman you can hit mobs at 3m with your T-21. And uh let's see STUN DAMAGE, which mobs overallseem to be weakest to.
Fencer is only good for PvP, to whomever suggested that.

Thanks to all!!
After seeing all the opinions i will try Swordman
as i said, i'm only interested in having a little fun in PvE while healing my guildmates and the people who needs it.
I'm against selling buffs, i prefer other ways to enjoy the game, and i give the buffs to whoever needs it. BUT i respect the people that sit at Corolag all day singing old tunes with their Droids while selling buffs
Thanks to all of you again. And up with te Doctors!

Having mastered all 4 melee profs [which all single handedly whip any ranged prof, except for Rifleman in single target takedown due to Conceal], Swordsman is your best friend, especially if you throw in 4 skill points to get the FS melee speed branch in the up-n-coming Phase 2.
