Thread: Bugged Buffs. Are they EVER going to be ADDRESSED and FIXED?

Ok so like a good player I pay attention to the stats needed for fast mind regen, and suck my health and action down horribly BECAUSE I CAN BUFF. Cool if I pay attention to the (presumed, but not in fact actual) duration of a buff I've made, I can plan ahead to hang out safely while they fade, and re up my stats to a survival level as I explore.

What does this get me? It gets me multiple daily bug reports to file because for a dozen situations, INCLUDING a buff wearing off IN GAME AND ACTIVE Im unable to RE BUFF MY SELF.

Because you see in the last week when a buff wears off I have an estimated 30% chance of no shot at rebuffing while active in the game. Im thinking its because there is a dorked timer somewhere...the buff itself shouldnt have worn off for another 40 minutes, but since it was bugged somehow and did, I cant RE BUFF for another bloody 40 minutes unless of course I happen to die. Which is going to happen darn soon due to the fact that without buffed primary meat stats Im toast to a durni if it decides I look like lunch.

Since item decay I cant even ask a friendly neighborhood person in a town to slay me after I clone there, without suffering BE clothing damage. And...get this...sometimes...SUICIDE WONT FIX the buff bug

If you hosers dont get it on and work this out your gonna find the only master docs in the game are holo ho's who are just slewing through the profession to get their force slot to slide open. Those of us who like(d) the profession and would (have) liked to continue supporting the game as master docs are going to go find another game or something less incessantly self abusive and frustrating to do in this one.

And yes. your csr's are not only lame but at times caustic and abusive, resulting in this attitude I cant seem to shake.

I have the same problem, made worse by depending on doctor and musician buffs for the things I like to do with my char. Ruined 30% of my gametime this weekend - nothing more annoying then sitting around waiting for a buff to wear off that you cannot see.
I can't believe this issue is just nr 5 in our bug list ...

Well different folks have different priorities. Best way to bump it higher, though, is to vote for it as a higher priority on your list.

Yeah, thanks for the lists, voted on it. I've seen the Nr. 14 show up often enough I guess its important to some people actually.
The thing is, all the other issues on this list really seem minor to me.
1. Medical surveying.
WHO CARES, I haven't used that one since my first week of beta. Just freaking buy the resources if you want to craft yourself, or buy things from crafting-specialized doctors.
2. Master doc benefits:
We got that now, can use the best d-packs. Other then this, its just the usual dabbler whining.
3. Enhanced HAMs Sticking
This is a real isuue - but a visual problem only.
4. Experimentation issues:
It seems doctors can make quite good stuff, experimentation cant be that broken
5. On fire cures.
Woho, big deal. Jump into water or just heal up. Commandos are not an issue for a buffed char that can heal himself.
6. Mounted healing.
Why ?
8. Faction Points.
Uhm, why, what for ?
9. High Level Wound Pack Consolidation
Good idea, but unimportant
10. Resuscitation Consent Request
Good idea, but a quick tell works to
11. Enhance Stacking Exploit Bug
An exploit, sure - but one that helps us if it happens accidently. Probably the same problem I have with rebuffing myself - time and buff itself are not synchronized well.
12. Drag and Clone Exploit
?
13. Resuscitation Timer Issues
Yeah, thats a real one.
14. Enhances Dropping on Logoff and Not Allowing New Buffs
That my pet issue
15. Crate combining
Would be nice, but unimportant
16. Medical Bag/Inventory Search for Meds
Woho ...
17. Doctor Content
I want swordsman content, to.
18. Money
Uhm, sell your buffs ?
19. Enhances Dropping on Resuscitation
This is a real problem. Especially when THAT DOES NOT RESET THE TIMER !
20. Factory Completion Timer
Dont know
21. Enhance Packs Variability%&*
An issue that could use improvement, sure. But you can live with low buffs for a while - better then being TOTALLY WITHOUT BUFFS.
22. Enhance Drop Notification
Yeah, well, I miss it if I suddenly have 400 instead of 3000 health ...
23. Droid Recharge Rate
Yeah, thats a problem. For all professions.
24. Combat Queue Heals%
More like a medic issue.
25. Enhance Action -v- other Enhance Pack Resource Disparity
Who cares ?

And so on ... all minor things that could used improvements. But there's a fundamental bug with buff timers that prevents me from playing the game 30% of the time I am on.
I'm sitting in front of a cantina in a playercity at the krayt graveyard, stuck with 400 health for 2 hours because I rebuffed shortly before the server went down.
When I will finally be able to buff myself, all the krayts will be dead, my buffs will end up being out of sync for the rest of the day. Totally ruined sunday afternoon.

going to have to agree with monika here, this (and the stuck HAM bars imo) are by far the biggest doctor issues atm..

well my point(not clearly shown enough) was that game-stopping bugs should have much higher priority than something "you don't like" in the game design, like having to pick up novice artistan for surveying

Then that's what these threads are fo. To convince your fellow Docs of that. It is youre felloow Doc who voted those issues into the order they are in at the moment. And it is your fellow Docs who can change that order. THat's what the votes are for, because although these may be the top issues for you that you see as VERY important, those other things that are unimportant to you are VERY important to someone else. Apparently they are more importnat than these few bugs.


Are they wrong? To you, yes they would be. To them, you are. We all have differing opinions one what is and is not important to us in the game. That's why I leave all of this stuff up to a vote because my personal opinion to choose a set of issues is no more important than all of your opinions.

don't care how you look at it, game stopping bugs should always have higher priority than someone's view of the game and wants to free up 20 skillpoints from artistan

You are right, of course, everybody sees things from a differnet angle. I hope though that other doctors might understand this problem affects them to.
There's the craft side - some doctors are more businessman, I could not live without them. They will never know about this bug, if they never buff anybody - but if buffs dont work they loose business !
Then there's those who only buff others, and dont use them on themself to fight. They will never really be annoyed by the problem as much as I am - but they will loose business.

I agree with most of what Monika said.


Except the fire heal state. Us CMs are supposed to be the DOT kings, yet commandos can incap a person in on hit with their DOT, also it does much more damage, has wound damage and incaps. If you heal yourself when your on fire it worsens the fire, and often times you're not near any water to put it out so you are screwed. True they need to be close, but as I am sure monika knows it's not all that hard to close range if you know what you're doing.


If docs could get rid of fire then the commandos won't be as strong and will balance things out a lot more.

There's a easy solution for this bug.


Find a masterdoc and let him/her deathblow and revive u .


I know it can be tedious and i don't like this bug either but being a materdoc and only doing buff's i probably deathblow 5 people a day just for this bug.


It should be higher on the list but if not more people vote for it it will never be.

What scares me is when they fix it - it will involve a nerf - oh by the way noone was supposed to buff over the stat value of the pack - I see it comming and dont say I didnt say warn you - carefull pointing the devs at ANYTHING involving your class lest it be made open to the nerf nazis!
