What is the highest effectiveness everyone has seen?
I thought that the max was 45% but my friend said that she's seen a 94% crafting station.

I'm just curious if that 94% is a pre-patch after beta or something

well any feedback is appreciated..

Holy crap! 94%?!? The highest we have on Gorath that I have seen is like 43 or 44%.

I believe you are talking about a labeling difference. Before we had ratings on stations Artisans would often rate a station based on what percentage rating they get when experimenting on it. Effectively a 94% experimented station today would likely give a rating of around +42 or so. I believe that +45 is the theoretical limit for crafting station quality.

BTW, if that is an older station that does not have the crafter rating on it, then I thnk all of those stations have a default rating of only +0. Not positive on that, though.

I do believe you are correct. And if I recall public stations have a negative rating.

Normally components will not affect a perscentage creation on the final combine (which is why listing the experimented percentage in the name is kind of useless.) WHat happens is that componenst simply but whatever stats they have directily into the final item. That final combine percentage is only based on the resources used for the final combine. SO it would be possible to get a 100% on a final combine but still ahve a lower rating because the components didn't add enough to that rating.

So if you had components made with crappy resources that only let you get up to 10% on their experimentation but used 1000 rated resources on the final combine you could still get a 100% on teh final and yet have a lower rating on the station because of the components used.

I used high OQ materials for all subcomponents and ended up with

- 98% Effectiveness Energy Distributors
- 97% Effectiveness Elect.GP Modules
- 86% Effectiveness Control Units
- 95% Effectiveness Micro Sensor Suites
- 93% Effectiveness Droid Storage Modules

On final assembly, I used CD 1000 Metal and the above subcomponents.

My result: "99% Effectiveness" , or Utiltity Rating of 41.5586.

I figure the 1% missing was caused by the less than perfect Control Units. So that's what the numbers mean. And I did all this last night.

What about the ratings on crafting tools?

I believe the theoretical range for tools is -15 through +15.

BTW, there's still a lot of controversy over + or - tools in that some experementation actually suggests that a negative rated tool performs better than a positive rated one leading many to believe the forumla using those ratings is reversed. A few folks also believe the same for stations, but I haven't seen any experiments that anyone has done for those.

No, I think the older stations will reflect their real values based on whatever resources were used and experimentation was done during initial creation. Since most archs didn't bother to experiment on them before the experimenting patch, that'll most likely be negative. Mine was -23, or something like that.

What does it really matter? I used to have a food and chem crafting station that was around +7. I recently paid for a +42 machine and haven't noticed a **edit** bit of difference. Am I missing something here? Shouldn't I see some kind of change?
