Thread: How do you feel about the rez arm?
I think it kinda stinks
Meh, *shrugs*
It doesn't compare to Master CM/Master Doc rez simply because of the 30 minute timer and the horrible armour hole it causes the wearer to have.
I was glad to get rid of my rez armwhen I re-juggled my template to get Master CM.
I, personally, am a proponant of it.
Any doctor that contributes to serious PvP knows that one res a half-hour isnt going to do very much to sway the flow of the battle.... unless it's used on the doctor/cm that can, in turn, res more people. Ditto for PvE... if the group's in a spot where people die, more than likely, you're going to see more than one person die every 30 mins... the res arm doesn't do a while lot there, either.
The res arm is a fail-safe.
Generally, most of the people I PvE and PvP with are bright enough to know that they should save use of their arm for when the group's ressers goes down, and not blow it on some random chance to use it. If someone in the group's able to save me a charge from my hero ring, more power to the party, eh?
Too, there are more resources for those fallen jedi in need to pull from.... no longer do I feel a twinge of guild if I don't drop everything I'm doing to run out to BFE Yavin to save some fallen jedi so that he doesnt lose 300k xp.... especially now that finding a doctor is getting as rare as finding an Image designer at times.
well i just got mine and being a novice doc, it is nice to have this ability to use until i master the profession.
I'm actually trying to equip all of my guildies with it. We tend to head to nasty places and see if we can bite off a little more than we can chew. I am the only rezzer and that can be problematic at times. There were occasions where I would have given my eye teeth for a little rez-in-a-can.
At first I was a little annoyed that they would give away our master ability. But in practice it in no way deminishes my ability or the need for my services. As has been said before, If you're in a situation where people need a rez they're going to need it more than once per half hour.
I wonder what's up with the devs? "Hey lets make a loot item that copies the master box power of two other professions and lets give it a 30 min timer"
Where was the Dev, who said "Wouldn't that diminish the role of those two professions? Shouldn't the loot item be a 1/day or 1/week or 5/uses?"
I think the rez arm is great... pretty much it's sole perpuse is to rez the rezers.. not to mention the armor hole it creates when useing it, unless you have inate armor goin for ya
i think....
but anyways, this arm takes a lot of effort to get.... and I think it is a fine add to the game....
i have one char with Doc 2002 and i can do all the Doc - stuff like a Master now (bacta infusion, improved wound heal - all buffs beside the poison/disease resists). with disease broken and no creature using poison right now, the only diference between a 2002 Doc and a Master Doc is the rezzing. i m MCM on that char so i dont mind - but it shows me how little rewarding mastering the Doc profession is at the moment.
its like giving out a quest reward helmet that gives u the abilities of a Master Squad Leader.
I'm surprised that any docs even support this, 30 mins is a SHORT timer if you ask me. Oh well, i'm still a doctor, I don't know why, but I am
There's no problem with it. It can't replace the healing abilities of a Doc, it can't replace the Buff abilities of a Doc, and it can't compare to the Res abilities of a Doc.
It's very similar to the Warlock Soulstone in WoW. It is there as a form of Party-Wipe prevention. That's all. The Warlock didn't replace the Preist in WoW with their Soulstones and Healthstones, just like the Rifleman (for example) won't replace the Doc in SWG with their Res Arm and Vendor bought Stimpacks.
