Thread: Anyone else tired of not having medium/heavy flora harvesters?
Yes, there are a lot of more high profile bugs that need to be fixed. However, it just seems like this is one of those bugs that would take an hour to track down and fix; it just happens that there are only a few hundred people who care and the bug hasn't gotten enough attention. What do you guys think?
yes i am....its especially hard on the medical field since the flora (med and large) farms that get the organics which are so vital to a medic are the ones that are bugged...
large chem and mineral harvesters are available but not flora
I know i have to run 5 floras on 80% veins inorder to keep enough organics to run my business...i go through about 8k of organics a day...
5 personal floras that could easily be done by 2 large floras. and i only have 10 lots...
i know, thats why i havent hit dantooine/lok for flora stuff until med harvs are fixed. waste of my time to go way out there ($$$) and place 3-4 harvs when 2 med harvs will do the same job for alot less lot space usage which is tight as it is with a med house, 2 solar harvs, 1 factory, 1 med chem, 2 med mineral harv, 2 small flora. this simple fact is why im just slowly hoarding stim b flora stuff now until med harvs are fixed. hopefully tonite, i can solve my lok wild wheat problem with a trade of petro 4 for lok wild wheat
Well, the bug with the harvesting mechanism component was in one of the architect correspondent's reports. It's not in the latest top 5, though. There's some hope, anyway. I should have checked those reports first; I feel a little better knowing that it's been officially documented.
lol /bug gets crap done...
/appeals even less...
i lost 1/2 the items in my house and 2500 fp worth of faction ranks...
and they do nothing
Well /bug isn't to get anything done for you right away. It's not the same as a ticket. I think of it more along the lines of butting in a ticket when I have a customer support issue, such as having a harvester not redeed (if you get the destry message that says you need more miant, pay the maint but be sure to wait past the 30 seconds for the first destroy command to clear. THe second iteration of the destroy command apparrently does not go back to check for maint levels, it simply confirms the first destroy command.)
I think of /bug as a developer tool. Nobody is going to respond to a /bug. But it is a way to let the developers know if there is a bug or problem in the system and we've been told before that the more /bugs a problem gets the higher the prioroity that bug will generally get in the development cycle.
So don't use it for issues, use it to help us all out in the future for trying to get things fixed on the developer side for future patches.
I gotta say this is slightly (if not majorly) off-topic but I have a question for those of you going out and putting harvesters on lok for wild wheat. How far away do you actually have to be to set up a harvester? I went about 1k meters away (and best I could find was 20% vein on Scylla atm ugh) and it stated that I could not build there. Any actual numbers or hell even roundabout numbers as far as distance from the stronghold?
Thanks in advance.

I'm running around finding threads related to the Harvesting Mechanism issue, which seems to be brought up often and in many different places. I'm trying to focus attention in one spot, on someone else's very old thread on the Discussion forum. If you would please be so kind as to go to the following thread:
http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=Development&message.id=22434
and give it a /bump for awareness, that would be spiffy.
As it stands, this was a Week-1 Issue for both the Architect and the Chef Correspondents. The Architect Dev seemed a little confused, and the Chef Dev said it was a bug, and should be a trivial fix.
Please help get this thing taken care of, and bump.
I agree that this is currently gating most doctors from setting up a high-scale business. From what I've seen, the demand for stim-b's greatly outstrips the supply for it on bria, but between this and the factory bug, I haven't bothered to try to run any.
