Thread: Support your profession!!! Mind heal for Doctors!!!
Okay they did a 180 on us concerning Mind heal. it seems likedoctors might actually get a chance to have.

Currently we have lost lot of sparks from our profession.
Among our "big three", being Wound heaing, Rez and Buff, only buffs are giving us any kind of pleasure.
Wound - Not many people take wounds. Almost everyone bind near where they are hunting and mobs don't do enough wound damage. None that wound-B can't take care of in speedy manner. Big dissapointment
Rez - still good skills, but for what is essentially highest form of medical skill, this one actually don't take much skill except one line in our tree, which is what most Medic & CM go for. Mild dissapointment.
Buff - Love it. best thing since slice bread. But since mind shouldn't be such factor in combat, and they are implementing mind heal, I think it is high time we get mind buffs.
So since our "perks" are no so perky, I think we should push for mind heal to be domain of Doctors. So if you want to support the doctor profession, head on over to main forum and post!

Master riflemen are hardly 'nerfed'. At least not till they change the weapon speed skill formula.
Now I actually follewed the link you posted.
How on earth can you say they are pulling a 180?!?!?!
Holocoron very very very clearly states that they have no idea how do deal with mind damage but that they arkicking alot of ideas around the office, one of them beeing medic. Thats not pulling a 180.

After that, I though for sure that we'd have snowball in hell chance of getting it.
But look like we do have chance after all.
And as for riflemen.
Why do so many of you riflemen think there will be no change to riflemen to compensate for this? I mean yes it would have such HUGE impact on your profession, so obviously Dev will do something for you if any of this ever get implemented. Even with what little I know about riflemen I can immediately tell several things that need change such as
1) no more 2.5x melee damafge penaly
2) increased accuracy, especially at short/med range and when moving
3) increased damage overall (DPS) to compete with pistoleer and carbineere.
4) change mind damage to health/action wound. (like 100-200 damage on "buffed" portion and 25-50 on non-buffed portion)
And so much more.
What I don't see if any of you riflemen posting on main forum to demand these!

Docs shout not get mind heals. There are to many exploits and it does not fit in with the rest of our profession. If anything, the one i like best is Squad Leader for mind damage. It makes sense. I need to do my math and see if SL/MD is doable - and if so...then that opens the issues and exploits the devs are trying to avoid. But we really shouldn't get mind heals, in my opinion.

As a doctor I DO NOT WANT a mind heal. Give it to a Squad Leader as it should have been in the first place. If I had a mind heal I would not die ever, and that would defeat the purpose of interdependancy between the professions. Sure I could take some squad leader, but if my math is correct you can't be a master doctor and a master squad leader.
This goes for buffs as well, I do not want mind enhances as a doctor. Those should go to the entertainers. They already get buffs, but they are very limiting and are based on the length of time you watch them in the cantina. If entertainers got enhances equal to doctors that would balance out alot of things.
I like the idea of a mind heal, but it needs to be expensive. If a doc wants to heal 250 points of mind damage, it should cost him/her 500. Since the mind pool is so precious to a doc, any doc would be reluctant to do such a thing. But, having this ability available gives a doc a "last ditch" chance of saving apatient before he is killed. Doing such a thing would obviously leave the doc vulnerable as he/she would have little mind left in order to heal him/herself. In addition, I think this skill should show up at Master Doctor- no one else should have this ability.
However, I think we could get around this whole issue (or at least part of it) if entertainer buffs were actually useful. As it stands now, you have to watch a master dancer/musician for 15 minutes to get a decent buff - and it wears off in a half hour! How ludicrous is that?!? I'm not even a master doctor yet and I can apply buffs that last for nearly 2 hours! If they want to keep the buff time for an entertainer short, that's fine, but having to sit and watch for 15 minutes to get a buff that only lasts that long is just silly. If these buffs could be made more useful, the problem with mind damage probably wouldn't be as dramatic (although it would still exist).
