I am a TKM and Master Swordsman looking to pick up Doctor. Which of these professions should I drop?

Depends on your playstyle

In the end both are great professions.

If you predominantly PvE though, I would say to keep Swordsman.

I had both TKM and Master Swordsman. Both weregreat offensively butI would have to say that I preferred TKM since it offered better defenses as well as thegreat ability to meditate.

im sure this has been said before but here we go again:

TKM = the best melee prof for soloing low-mid level mobs, such as quenkers, sharnaffs, geonosians.. u get the idea. also has meditation but tht won;t be of much use if your going doctor. TKM is also the best standalone pvp class (imo anyway) cause of the great defences to go with high speed. drawback is 1 damage type so if you find something tht is 100% kin res (like an elder) start running

Swords = ultimate high end pve prof, if your elder hunting this is the right profession. blast damage is a great option and if you can cap out your speed not many (if anyone) can outdamage you. drawback is that you have sucky defenses and tend to suck in pvp (unless you have real gd food and weps etc).

Perosnally i prefer swords to TKM because i can tackle the high end mobs with ease and i do very little pvp

in the end its down to how you want to play

must dis-agree tbh, swordsman isnt too bad in PvP, use it myself and manage to do my fair share of damage....... tho i have master brawler too.....

but it honestly depends on whether you want defense or damage, and whether you want PvP or PvE.........

altho it also depends how much doctor you want.....

Didn't read the whole coversation but assuming you are master doc master melee prof

Drop TKA all together.

TKA = ap1 (kinetic)

Swords = ap2 (kinetic, blast)

I'm Master Doc/Master Swords, 5 lines FS, and its a great combo.

Heal states off of you during combat, and swords is a really good prof.

[Edit] Swordsman is really good in pvp if you understand how to use it properly. Not great in one of those 1 vs. multiple battles but when the numbers are fairly even, Swordsman/Doctor serves me well. IMO, Swords > TKA. TKA suck due to the ap1 and only kinetic dmg atm, (possibly heat w/ the razor vk). Swords have ap2 and target mind pools very well. TKA may have better defenses but w/Doctor and Master Swords, you just heal a state as soon as its applied, I do very well in PVP.

I agree - healstate and a decent power hammer rule in pve and with either speeds tapes or the FS Skills, can be competitive in pvp.
