How do you all determine your prices for your medicines? I am by no means smart in math, so any help would be appreciated, formulas and such.

Thanks ahead of time

Go look around at peoples vendors on your server and many of the prices will be different for close to the same meds. Reasons for this are that some produce all or some of thier own resources while others depend wholy on miners.

Just make sure that you keep your prices close to what the others on your server sell thiers for. Otherwise you might start a flame war if they decide you are undercutting thier prices too much. Also make sure that your prices are over your cost of production, or you are going to put yourself out of buisness just as fast as you put another med seller out of buisness.

I have taken the formulas from a few posts around that i have seen and been using them. It makes things a bit easier when it comes to pricing if you have a standard formula and you stick by it. Here is what i go by

Stimpacks:

Heals x charges x 10%

Ranged & Area & Wound:

Heals x charges x 15% (With the wound packs sometimes the price may be a bit low...I tend to adjust a bit more on these packs than any others...)

Poison & Disease:

Heal x charges x potency x .005

Area Poison & Disease:

Heals x charges x potency x .006

I use all advanced components on all meds. My crates usually come in 10 25 50 and an occasional odd number. I charge full price for a crate of 10 but as the crates move up i start discounting the price a bit.

I got a tell today from someone stating that I was underselling them. My regular ingrediant medpack b (35-75 or so) goes for around $525. They were selling 25-50 b's for $2,700. I think I will continue to undersell that.

Lol. Even as a doctor I wouldn't be able to justify selling medpacks at that over inflated price ($2700). OMG.

yeah that's pretty jacked up i sell my 312/44 for 3k easy but i make a rule that i don't sell stims under 300 power or used stims (label doesn't match the number of uses). if i use a stim by accident i just give it away to someone.

selling anything under 300 as master doctor would give you a bad rep.

I just started up a Med shop and for my stim pricing I use the formula (uses * base) / 8, and then round off to the 50. This seems to be a good market value. And I give a discount on crates of crate size off each stim (I know it's confusing but here's an example)

25/200 - 650 each

  • Crate of 10 - 6400 (640 each)

  • Crate of 25 - 15625 (625 each)

  • Crate of 50 - 30000 (600 each)

Rez Kits uses * 200 (20 charges = 4000)

I haven't come up with a pricing formula for med packs or crated components yet. And I'm not sure if I'm going to sell enhance packs (maybe enhance B's or C's).

I generally price 8 to 12credits perresource used. Anything with weak stats gets the lower end and good stats gets the higher end.

A few items end up undercutting fairly significantly (res kits, for example, take about the same resources as a Stim-B, but most people charge much more for them), but I like the method as it simplifies my own calculations and guarantees me a very nice profit, even if I didn't harvest all the resources myself.

Supply and demand, get most profit, youd be surprised at weaponsmith prices for stuff.. 50-100cr/resource

More and more I'm falling back on a CPU model. I'm not as interested in charging more for better stims, since they all take time and resources anyway...

Hi all,

Just thought I'd add this tool I put together for my use. It's very rough, so I've added some notes and caveats. I can't stress enough that it's very rough, and that the most important guide is the price of goods from other people on your server. Please don't undercut, it doesn't help anyone.

The calculator uses the total base heal/7 principle which seems to be roughly inline with stim prices on Intrepid at the moment. I may update this in a while if I can find the time. Please remember that you may want to charge a premium for large Stim Bs usable by novice medics as they kind of negate the need for more senior healers (stim C users) in a hunting party.

Hope this helps, and apologies if people don't find it accurate!

Calculator is here

Cheers,
