If it wasn't for us you couldn't kill anything. Guess what - before the days of doctor buffs we did it the hard way - in groups, with strategy, with co ordination and co operation. Be glad you have the choice now. If we didn't give you the option - you'd moan. We give you the option - you moan. Show some respect for the Doctors.

I'm more than happy to admit the Buff system does not help the game in it's current format, but somehow I think there's more constructive ways to point this out. I think perhaps buffs have been implememted to fix deeper problems in the game, like the huge HAM costs of professions like carbineer, and that the difficulty scale means solo play unbuffed is not an option (for when people want to do that).
It's all very well to say you hate buffs/doctors, but that's not going to change the fact that combat needs a serious overhaul to address all the faults buffs and armour have been used as band aid to fix. If you really want to help readdress the balance then post constructive critisism and alternative ideas on an appropriate board, you never know it might even make a difference.

(referring to origional poster). Its retards like this who probably blamed image designers for stat migrations and tents. DON'T BLAME THE PLAYERS FOR STUFF THE DEVELOPERS DID!

I know how you (original poster) feels. I log in, get ready to play, find that elusive mob that is carrying the good herb meat, and start to attack on ly to get this message:
******* WARNING!! WARNING!! You may not attempt to engage in combat without the proper buffs. Please find a doctor immedeately!!***********
Oh wait..... no one is forcing you to buff in the first place. If you want to hunt in a large group, and still want a challenge, just hunt without buffs.
/sigh
Docs aren't bad, we're just coded that way.

In my opinon, one of the biggest reasons people do NOT group is that there is no incentive to do so since one gets less experience and credits (and has to share loot) and the current missions become so easy that sometimes one can't even get an attack in. Groups end up being used for only a handful of targets in the game or in PVP. So even if buffs were gone but everyone naturally had buffed HAM, the same problems you see now would still be there.
YOu would have 10k more credits in your pocket, and a half hour more to play, but no one would group and no one would share.
Actually, I shouldn't say no one because many people do like to group. You just need to find them. Seriously, start tryiing to form unbuffed groups of people who want to hunt. Enjoy the challenge of seeing just how much stuff you can take on without spending the 10k on the buffs. If you can't wear your armor, then try buying some lighter armor or going without it. I know yourexperience gain won't be as good as if you were solo and buffed, but then, you might have a lot more fun and ultimately isn't that why you play?
I agree that doctor buffs are so strong that most players can't resist getting them whether they need them or not. I'm all for reducing that strength so that more people make the choice to go unbuffed since far too many feel that spending a half hour and paying 10k is the way they "have" to play the game. People used to feel they needed to have pets. That didn't change until the developers made the good pets harder to have. I think they also did something to make it easier to fight without pets and perhaps that is what they need to do with respect to buffs. Lower them down and incresae the payouts for big group missions and the way experience works. Let's reward people for teaming up again.
I'd be delighted to be back in the situation I used to be in when I wanted to sell buffs. That not everyone wanted them. That if I said 10k, some peopel would say "that's not worth it, I'm just hunting kunga". Very few would ever say that now. I'd be happy because that would mean I would not be swarmed by 30 people if I put up my tag. Or people saying they hate me because I do not want to buff them. I want to sell a luxury not something seen as a necessity that's overpriced.

I agree with HuntinHeads and Padtai.Buffs are not required to get decent experience, and definitely not required to have fun. I regularily go out with myNovice Bounty Hunter character to fight rebels or mobs (and sometimes marks if I'm gutsy) without buffs, and just three pieces of armor on. Sure, I go through stim b's like mad, but I stay alive and have fun. And if some guildies are nearby, I invite them and we go for bigger game. The other day five of us grouped for fambaa missions and had a ball. Only two of us were buffed.
Yes, the doc buffs need to be fixed. Right now, they are bringing the game in a direction we (the players and the devs) don't want it to go. I firmly believe that doc buffs should be changed to be percentage based, similar to dancer and musician buffs. There is discussion on this topic in the HAM Revamp thread in the In Concept thread. Devs want to make a non-linear scale for reduced effect as you get higher buffs. Makes sense, but we'll see what they come up with.

Okay I have a question... if doctors don't buff what are they good for at all, I mean there just gonna sit in the med center and heal the occasional disease that comes in, there's no point to be a doctor if you can't buff... is there?

Your absolutely right. Cause we can't cure states or rez people, or put out fire, or cure disease, or cure poisons, or craft the best stims and wound packs for all the nov medics out there. You are absolutley right, there is no point other than to buff.
Go away.
