What makes you think they are? Doc buffs have been unchanged since day 1 (the effect, not the med use). What would lead you to believe that they are getting nerfed now?

Why is everyone so paranoid about buffs getting nerfed? If they were going to do something about it, don't you think they would have done it by now?

none that I heard of.

I've heard that they are changing it so that it might overwrite which would be fantastic. Although we'd most likely lose the exp from buffing then.

There is still chance of having variation reduced instead which would be also nice.

And last thing is the upcoming food fix. Once they make the food actually work well, and if Dev are true to their previous fixes and over do it (like semi-perma 4k buff to all 9), then we might get hit with less business for little while.

But remember, they just did this whole improved communication thing so if there is anything that should concern us, Dev will hear about it toot-sweet and address it promptly.

umm... yes.

dont know about any nerf's but I wish they would change the randomness of them, thats so annoying. I want exactly what it says on the tin type buffs.

LOL I take turns reading the different profession boards and people are actually complaining that Doc buffs are *too* strong. They always go on to complain about how hard it is to kill someone who's fully buffed and with 80% Adv 3x Composite on in PvP. No, no, it isn't the armor's fault or their weapon/tactics/specials, its the buffs.. /sigh

Uh, so WE don't want it, and YOU don't want it in for PvP--then why is it still there??

Nerf everything. Make armor worthless, weapons worthless, fighting worthless, doing anything in this game worthless. Then we can sit around and tell stories wihle tuskens, nightsisters, and krayts frolic freely across our planets.

people nerf what they dont understand.

They are strong, so all the more reason to get them before going into battle. I hope they don't do anything to nerf doctors, to my knowledge there is no reason to and no indications that they are thinking of it but you never know with these devs.

I just became a novice doctor, one of the reasons is because they never got nerfed, and more people want doctor buffs than dancer buffs allowing me to have my social environment that the afk dancers have taken away. I dislike when I'm in the middle of working up a profession and then everything changes on me. No I'm not one of those flavor of the month types, I'm a master dancer/novice doc. I was a master dancer/novice BE/novice ch but when they tried to fix a few dna bugs that produced over powerful creatures they ended up screwing everything up and then unpatching it because they admitted to screwing up. So I don't want to go through that again and I'm pretty sure they are going to screw up again. It's in their nature as we have seen in the past.

Buffs are a huge force multiplier but they're available to everyone for little cost and no skill point expenditure, so balance is not really an issue - just like armor and weapons.

I do expect them to do something about the enhance action D schem some day though

With upcoming food change, I think things can really get messy especially given the competitive/co-operative nature of doctor buff/food/spice.

I think there should be four catagories of buffs.

Health & Action

Secondary stats (Str, Con, Qui, Sta)

Mind

Secondary Mind (Focus & Willpower)

And there should be specialists.

Strong buff (3.5x)
Medium buff (2.5x)
weak buff (1.5x)

Doctor should have Strong health & Action Buff, medium secondary stats buff and weak mind buff.

Chef should have strong secondary statss buff, medium health & action buff and weak secondary mind buff

Spice should have medium in all three

dancer should have strong mind, medium secondary mind and weak health & action

musician should have strong seconary mind, medium mind and weak secondary stats.

This way there is not much DIRECT competition and more rounded benifit from any one more more buffs.

Nerfing buffs will only cause us more grief because we will really have lost our main money making item as doctors and since the devs do not seem to want tp address our issues such as money making it would be a bad thing to nerf them

Also the new combat system may not nake them worth any less, just combat adapting. We all really need to see some test results to determine what the impact is.

If they fall in line to how combat works correctly their worth will be the same even if they act differently or do not have as good of effect. Because lets face it, if they are the best thing you can do to help and the benefit is there the demad will be there

I agree -- been saying it for a while on one of our sticky threads in fact. Except for the part about regen... If I hit myself for a nice constitution buff (which is most of the time), say 2500-3200, my health regens fast enough that I can be hit by a master commando using a flamethrower three, or sometimes four times before I even have to think about healing. If a pistoleer stacks both his bleeds on me, no worries, I can regen about 3/4 of the damage before the next tick. I can count of one hand the number of times I've used a stimpack on myself in PvP... The health regens an awful lot fast than mind, after all... Even with musician buffs.

With action and health Ds, and secondary Cs, (and a muon) I can solo a 40k rancor lair with half of my skillpoints tied behind my back (i.e. without using combat medic skills). Walk up to them, stack 2 pistol bleeds, and spam fanshot until they're dead...

Buffs are, after all, the reason why mind is the only stat that matters at all in serious pvp... And, buffs are the reason that only riflemen and bounty hunters have any chance of taking down a doc who knows what he's doing.

I continue to find it insane that I can use these packs to get 300% increases to my main stats, and 700-900% increases to my secondaries. Think about that. A 900% increase? Now if only I could find something that would give a 900% increase to my pistol accuracy!

Anyway, I can't wait to see the combat revamp. I just hope they don't roll it out half-baked... PvP has a lot of potential in this game, it would be great to see it fully realized.

I believe he is referring to the fact in the hew combat system buffs will not be adding to the max value which will be used for specials.

It has not been tested so we don't know

Since the devs do ont allow us to copy characters to the test server we may not know. There are always issues of elite professions because of this. Who has time to gather good resources and xp up an extra chracter in the test center. So many elite functions just dont get tested. If anmyone has a master doc with good buffs on the test center, please test the effect of the new combat system on buffs when the new system is fully implimented there
