You need about 6K units of avian meat to craftcrates of each enh medpack D (50 medpacks per crate)... at 80 cpu you'll have to pay less than 500K cr for it.

Assuming 20 shots in each medpack, you'll have 1000 set of buffs... at 10K per buff, you'll easily make 10M cr out of it.

Mr. Smedley's immortal words:
There are long threads that I've started myself on our forums, but we have community representatives that are answering questions diligently on our forums already, and I'm very involved in what's being said.

you'll become richer faster by just selling the enhance paks to the docs themselves rather than selling buffs.

selling buffs (my primary source of income, hunting is second) will get you about 250k/hr in OPTIMAL conditions (you have a continuous line, everyone tips appropriately, all your buff paks are out and easy to access, your droid is fully charged, not many tells, etc etc). not bad, huh? realistically its not quite like that, and if you run into a group of griefer docs who start underselling you at 4k for buffs to drive you away that changes the whole formula.

the real issue is: you only make on average about 2x what you invest in enhance paks. meaning, spend 100k, expect to make 200k. profit = 100k. so of that 250k an hour you earn in optimal conditions, you are profiting about 125k. not bad, true, but janta missions pay 32k each, and if you're good you can bang out 6 an hour easy with a MUCH higher profit margin. for me, hunting has bcome unbearably boring, so i buff for money.

the problem is you are rarely the only doc in coronet, and coronet is about the only place you can expect to find enough customers to keep a good line going for any amount of time.

so if you wanna get rich as a doc, you gotta be a crafter.

The problem with this brilliant plan is a few things:

1. Avian isn't the only resource needed for 50 packs.

2. You need factory components.

3. It'd take forever and a day to sell 1000 sets of buffs.

I read that. It would work also. I'm a crafting doc though, my factories do all of the work, and I can make 10mil while I'm asleep.

I don't get near as many hate tells either

Takes a long time and a lot of patience, like most crafting professions really. It's sometimes much easier to just pick up an elite profession and run 20k missions all night (it's much more boring though, I agree).

You can certainly get rich buffing people. 100% profit is 100% profit, even if it is a hassle.

If you shop carefully (assuming you buy the packs) you can get a six-stat buff for around 4500 and sell it for 12k if you pick your market.

However, if you want to get mega-rich, the best way is to craft stim-b's and 90 med use buffpacks, as others have said.

The drawback there is that they need a bunch of specific resources, and your competition is very good at what they do.

MiraMeds, Callyndra, Redfyre (not to leave anyone out) and several others on Corbantis make great meds and have a loyal following. I'm sure they have equals on other servers, so no matter where your character is you'll need to bring your "A" game if you want to compete.

However, if you want to put the work in, the money's definitely there.

The main problem with crafting is that you are competing with people who have been hoarding resources for months... so it's pretty hard to make good products to compete. Lots of new doc crafters break the prices too, and it usually doesn't help to make friends with the older ones.

What does that mean?

Also, I've been doing it 3 months, started from scratch, no resources horded, no bought ebay credits, and I'm successful.

All it takes is a plan.
