Be glad you own a combat droid pre CU
Post CU combat droids are bugged no attack command.. sucks to be a lvl 7 crafter with protector while out on harvestor runs...

Ummm no they are not. I got mine made post CU and it works like a charm. The issue with yours is that if you group with it then it takes on your CL. So dont group with it and it will still be around 20ish.

What exactly would be the reasons for having a droid anymore? No consumable items really, so why storage?
Armor, weapons, food, clothing, loot, etc etc. for storage. Also, some enhancers are still worth using (B. Jab, for example)
The droid adds very nice bonus to healing.
A combat droid is a nice way to kill swimmers (jedi can not heal in water
)
I love my combat/med droid

Count yourself lucky, go check out the DE forums..
I went on the droid forum a week or two after the CU to ask if they could make me a Med droid that would stand up in a fight - they could, and I had one made right away ![]()
Always have him out when I PvE and was getting +1300 heals with him before they upgraded our healing ability in the last patch or two.
If you don't know what to get ask your Droid
Engineer for THIS:
R3 Adv with level 6 armor: 1 combat module, 110
medical module, and 4 autorepair modules.
Since the armor is broken there's no need to add
more combat modules to try to hit 8 or 9K armor. The
autorepair functionality is very weak, and considering
I can heal the droid myself there almost seems no need
for them. However, in the lower levels of the Rryatt
trail my droid was constantly taking hits and I was
focusing too much of my time healing the droid. This
is were autorepair modules come into play. It does
allow me to get back to doing my job of healing others
and not just the droid. BTW, autorepair modules drain
the batteries and a incapped droid still provides the
medical bonus, just stay near the incapped droid.
If armor wasn't broken for droids, I'd go with:
R3 Adv with level 6 armor, 3 combat, 110 medical
module, and 2 autorepair modules.
