I am a 1-4-2-1 doc, pretty new, and just had a question for all you "old timers" lol.

Many buffing docs have problems with buffing in public because all of the rude people out there and the enormous lines and the frustration. But...most docs are buffing in large cities, such as Coronet.

(so here it is)

Why not start buffing on Dant, Dath, or Yavin? You know, the place where the people are hunting. There are less poeple there, most of the people who are there usually are experienced players, and there wouldn't be asmany problems, i think.

I also wondering whether anyone has tried doing this yet, and if they could tell what their experiences were.

seriously though, buffing on the advanced planets or near the high-level spots is a good idea...

Dath, Dant, Endor, Yavin, Fort Tusken etc...

a lot of the players out there are too lazy to walk/ride/fly to you in Coronet/Theed... just bring your droid and your bivoli and you can charge a premium for buffing "in the field"

I usually only buff on these planets, but that being said, I have also been know to buff in Coronet from time to time. I try to stay away from buffing the public to a large degree, and concentrate on myself, my group members, and any Rebels I encounter in the field!

Buffing on the advanced planets is cool. If you are looking to make money there will be a steady stream of people coming to you, but you won't be in the /tell hell you get when in Coronet.

It's a pretty good idea, you can charge more and the crowds are smaller, therefore less spam and less tells. However, I don't know about "advanced players". Dath and Yavin, perhaps, but Dantooine is newb central. I usually bring my doc alternate up there and hide him behind a harvester so he can just buff my main character and guildies.

If you buff at Fort Tusken, expect to be constantly hassled for rezzes if the players there are not high level combat characters. Be firm about what you will and won't do, and how much it costs. Perhaps "forget" to bring rez packs.

Still less hassle than Coronet or Theed, though.

While it can be a good source of money, on my server there will either be only a few hunters there who need buffs(On Yavin, Lok, or Dathomir mainly) because they get the buffs before departing to the planet by habit. If it is busy though and people know you are there, they will buy from you instead of waiting for 30 minutes in Coronet.

Bah, I hate buffing in Cnet, I only do it if Im waitin for my guild and I have extra time. When I buff for cash its allways on Dant. I plop down right outside the cantina, throw up "master doctor" and my afk message that bassicly states I am buffing and not rezzing (its somewhere on these forums, forget where I posted it) and gives the waypoint so I dont get: Ok, im in mining, where are you?"

Little lesson from my experiences.

People have to travel through c-net to get to the advanced planets.-They almost always buff there.

Buffing on advanced planets nets higher profits, but comes in slowly. As people die and need new sets, people log in who logged off in the outpost. etc... I charge 15k for buffs on these planets easily.

If you have the time, adv planets are the way to go.

To be honest, from my experience on Ahazi, the only advanced planet I've seen anyone shouting for buffs is on Dantooine in the Mining Outpost. The other planets are usually fairly empty for some reason. The Geo Bunker on Yavin used to be a good dangerous place to sell buffs but since they lowered the spawn rate there and added the corellian corvette, there aren't many people there at all. Maybe it's just me or the timing I have or just Ahazi. I did go to dath thinking I might get some business and I think there was like 12 people on the entire planet at the time.

The main reason for buffing in Coro is because of the volume of "customers", and the main reason for buffing on adventure planets is the premium you can charge for your trouble. The Docs at Coro are going for low profit margin and high turnover, and the docs on Yavin 4 are going for high profit margin and low turnover - I suggest for buffing which requires lots of attention to detail, low turnover w/ high margins is the way to go.

There are of course, variations on this - eg Buff in Coronet when there are line 10+ people long, for 35K. The odd rich person in a hurry will be happy to escape a 20 minute wait.

i don thave a problem with rude people, because i dont invite rude people to be buffed. If someone seems AT ALL a pain inthe butt i blow them off. Has worked well so far. Dont talk to the idiots, it only gets them to act up more.

I'll sit down and let a buff line form at one of the busy spots (Coronet, Theed, Dantooine Mining Outpost) only if there is no one else already there running a buff line, or if their buff line is huge. I get a lot of tells in these places - mostly from those who just don't want to wait in line and are looking to jump the queue somehow.

As for advanced planets, I always leave my Master Doctor title up when I'm hunting on these planets and quite frequently get tells from people who ran a search and found me. I don't charge more to buff them, but I do make them come to me rather than me coming to them.

And they always tip more than what I tell them to.

If someone happens to catch me waiting for a shuttle in some place where this no one buffing and asks for a buff, I do it, but I doubt I would ever just sit around some more or less deserted spot shouting that I'm buffing.

And yes, you can usually keep busy, but not too busy, at places like the Geo Lab or Tusken Fort...where lots of people die lots of times. But yes you -will- get constant tells for revives, and for some reason I haven't figured out yet, no one ever thinks to actually PAY you when you revive them...and you also take a chance on getting killed yourself if you go in after their body.
